A Brief Overview

This role will provide a strong contribution to advancing the work of DEI at Safelite. Leveraging strong organizational skills, the Senior DEI Specialist will be responsible for owning, overseeing and executing a variety of DEI initiatives through daily project and program management support. This role involves partnering closely with various departments throughout the business to build greater capability in driving a culture of awareness, understanding, inclusion and belonging through ongoing DEI activity. This includes a strong, collaborative partnership with the enterprise's communication function to promote DEI initiatives. This also includes leveraging data skill and a partnership with staff to leverage data to track goals and measure success with progress against DEI initiatives. This role will support the creation and sustainability of internal affinity groups, associate resource groups and DEI councils. Lastly, the Senior DEI Specialist will connect with local and national figures in the DEI community to learn DEI best practices and understand thought leadership in the broader community, which can be leveraged to grow and develop Safelite's DEI function.

What you will do

  • Ownership, oversight and implementation of DEI-related programs (conversations, panels, group activities, community engagements). Responsible for all project and program management pieces.

  • Collect and analyze statistical data to evaluate impact of DEI work

  • Conduct research for DEI presentations, white papers, articles and learning materials

  • Responsible for communications management and execution. Drive external and internal diversity-related messages through collaborative work with the different parts of the Communications function

  • Execute on the DEI strategic plan and create processes and templates that strengthen the infrastructure of the DEI function and can be shared more broadly across the business with the aim of creating awareness and understanding of how DEI is operationalized

  • Network and develop relationships with professional organizations and practitioners with the aim of learning industry best practices and increasing DEI-related acumen at Safelite

  • Performs other duties as assigned

  • Complies with all policies and standards

What You'll Need:

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred or Equivalent experience

  • 4-6 years Relevant experience required

  • Exceptional skills in the areas of program management, project management, time management, communication management, research, presentation delivery and relationship management

  • A professional presence that is collaborative and team-oriented; able to effectively work across cultures, build trust easily and partner with organizational leaders.

  • Effective and inclusive communication skills, both verbal and written and the interpersonal skill necessary to interface at all levels of the organization.

  • Exceptional presentation skills in large or small groups.

  • Creativity and a passion for justice, equity, inclusion, and diversity work.

  • Microsoft Office Suites Proficiency including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
