Clearing, Markets & Issuer Services Technology (CMIST) is responsible for application development and support for more than 350 critical business systems including Repo Edge (collateral management), Enterprise Payment Hub (multi-currency payment processing), and Broker Dealer Clearance (securities clearing).

Markets & Market Risk Technology (MMRT) within CMIST provides technology management and application development for Foreign Exchange (FX), Securities Finance, Global Collateral Management, Liquidity Management, and Fixed Income & Equities businesses. This group also supports the company's market risk and counterparty credit risk platforms.

Overview of the role:

We are enhancing our teams and looking for a Business Analyst who has strong analytical, problem-solving, communication and SQL skills. We are looking for an individual who is excited about growing our business and servicing our clients.

The incumbent will have the unique opportunity to enhance sophisticated, high-performance market platforms using the latest technology stack and best software engineering practices. The job holder will work with the business to understand and capture requirements, create technical specification documents, and collaborate with developers to produce the solution. The Securities Finance service is extremely data-centric and therefore, the incumbent requires strong SQL skills to extract and analyze the data that resides within the Securities Finance Data Warehouse.

The incumbent will also be responsible for performing functional testing to ensure the developed component meets the requirements. S/he will follow the BNYM DLC and create the proper artifacts for both requirements and testing evidence.

Sr. Specialist Business Analysis Consultant->> Consults with stakeholders to analyze, define, challenge and prioritize the business requirements, functional specifications and operational architecture for a functional work stream within a highly complex strategic, global program.

Formulates and defines program scope and objectives for the work stream with thorough understanding of business processes in a specific business domain. Tailors standard processes and templates for team to elicit, challenge, and prioritize requirements, and translates into functional design and use case models. Develops project scope, objectives, constraints and assumptions for a large, strategic, multi-year program.

Prepares and manages the project plan, issues and risks, and is accountable for overall delivery of their assigned functional work stream on a large-scale program.

Provides guidance in development of the technical design, test plans, and user documentation. Leads implementation/conversion strategy planning and implementation.

Manages scope and change throughout the initiative utilizing formal change control and requirements traceability. Gathers and analyzes information and develops recommendations to address strategic business objectives that span multiple, global business and technology areas. Participates in industry forums and keeps current on domain knowledge for their specific business and application areas of expertise.

Applies experiences across various software and/or systems development processes to define and collect metrics and identify and implement opportunities for improvement to increase quality of requirements and speed time-to-market. Actively influences software and/or systems development process improvement initiatives. Contributes to the achievement of related area objectives.


  • Bachelor's degree in business or technical-related discipline, or equivalent work experience required, advanced degree preferred

  • 8-10 years of experience in Business Analysis, providing consulting advice to senior IT and business management required

  • Hands on experience with agile and waterfall methodologies

  • Strong SQL skills

  • Strong communicator who is extremely organized

  • Highly motivated and self-starter

  • Fundamental understanding of distributed applications

  • Be able to work in a fast-paced, agile development/project environment

  • Experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus

Job Description The Senior Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst is the key liaison between high profile clients and the Merkle Analytics Teams. This is a highly visible position, as the Senior BI Analyst elicits and drives requirements and initiatives for a Merkle client(s). As a Senior BI Analyst with Merkle, you will be responsible for delivering outstanding data visualization solutions for our industry leading clients in a variety of business verticals.
