How Will You Make an Impact?

In this key role you will coordinate vendor base and spend across strategically focused category areas, develop an in-depth knowledge of assigned categories, suppliers and product cost drivers, generate understanding of regional demands (and as requireds sites in other regions) and sourcing constraints, run sourcing projects & events, negotiate, project manage, and execute "Preferred" Corporate Supply Agreements.

In addition you will establish a roadmap of annual category objectives, strategies and projects, track and report project progress and project savings to achieve Corporate, Regional and Site level procurement objectives

What will you do?

  • Provide strategic leadership and direction to the operational (site) purchasing groups, rationalize and leverage the vendor base for assigned categories.

  • Deploy appropriate negotiating and sourcing techniques (e.g. bids, tenders, auctions) at the corporate level and assist sites in doing so to ensure optimal category savings.

  • Project Manage the sourcing process and implementation.

  • Support and promote the internal business groups with supplier / supply chain rationale and direction

  • Establish, deploy and monitor operational supplier metrics to: deliver objective "Supplier Relationship Management," rationalize and leverage the vendor base on a category basis, measure and improve "compliance" to the corporate contracts

  • Partner with key internal functions (e.g., Engineering, CMO, PDS, Legal) to ensure supplier performance and vendor management criteria are meeting the full needs of the business

  • Oversee and / or directly manage supplier quality issues and disputes

  • Establish and manage senior executive relationships within the category supply base

How will you get there?

Education

Bachelor's degree, preferably engineering or business. MBA a strong plus

Experience

  • Minimum 5 year's experience in indirect procurement with expertise in Energy portfolio management, CAPEX, and Site Services.

  • Minimum 8-years' experience in related field within a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment

  • Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Processes

  • Experience overseeing a spend base of at least 1 million USD

  • Robust Project Management skills, and a demonstrated ability to lead projects on a regional or global basis

  • Strong and demonstrated ability to build business cases and executive level summary presentations

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently

  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks

  • Strong communication skills (both oral and written) across a broad spectrum: from detailed technical to executive level

  • Deep sourcing and contract negotiation expertise, with strong ability to review and draft contracts from a business perspective

  • Understanding of and exposure to energy and utility markets

  • Capable of working across different geographical demographics and cultures

  • Demonstrated commitment to our fundamental principles of Integrity, Respect and Excellence

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification CPM and/or CPIM certification a plus

  • Previous experience with procurement across pharmaceutical categories a plus

  • Knowledge of SAP or other ERPs, experience with eProcurment an added plus

  • Experience with Supplier Quality Programs

  • Ability to travel as required to sites, conferences and vendor locations up to 40% on an annual basis
