Senior Sourcing Specialist for one of our top Banking clients located in Pittsburgh, PA.

Job Title: Senior Sourcing Specialist

Location: Pittsburgh, PA

Type:Temporary, potential Temp-To-Hire

Length: 3 months

Schedule: 8am - 5pm, M-F

Pay Rate: $27.00 - $37.50 per hour

Business need for this role:

This position will manage the corporations strategic sourcing process and leads process direction, oversight and methods for company contracts.

Top must-have skills / Candidate


Five to seven years of experience in Supply Chain Management.

Outstanding liaison background across a large corporations business units.

Excellent management, meeting and facilitation skills presenting and enterprise of Company to its suppliers.

Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite of Products required.

Strong Oral and Written Communication Skills required

Analytical Ability/strategic Thinking required

Organizational/Multi-Tasking Abilities required

Contract Drafting/Management Skills required

RFP/RFI experience

Ariba experience

Day to day responsibilities:

Directs work flow, assigning work responsibilities and providing assistance and technical guidance to both business partners and Sourcing leaders.

The employee is responsible for increasing shareholder value through significant dollar savings impact to the Companys bottom line and limiting the Companys risk and liability exposure through appropriate contract development

In this role you will manage and execute best-in-class sourcing strategies to include: identification of sourcing projects, conducting risk management/due diligence, leveraging electronic tools and technology, regularly participating in and/or leading price negotiations, contract preparation and execution, and providing information and influence to facilitate award decisions.

Responsible for understanding details and general market knowledge of assigned commodity products and services.

Employee is also responsible for sales, marketing and change management efforts across all levels of the organization.

Provides value added consultation and recommends process reengineering and efficiencies where applicable.

Interfaces with all levels of management and frequently serves as a liaison between external providers and internal business partners for moderate to complex situations/projects and decisions that may have a significant impact to the Company.

Degrees or certifications required:

Bachelor degree in business, finance, accounting, supply chain management or business related field.

Ideal vs Average Candidate:

Experience negotiating technology contracts.

Working in a Cyber Security Environment.

The Senior Manager, Transportation Sourcing and Contracts, will be responsible for the successful deployment, implementation, and maintenance of carrier programs and transportation strategies for several modes of domestic transportation (TL, Intermodal, LTL, Premium Courier, and other Specialty modes), ensuring excellent service, competitive costs and consistent capacity. The position will support Thermo Fisher Scientific Shipping operations in North America. What will you do? * Drive the development, procurement and sustainability of a service provider network to meet and exceed the requirements of Thermo Fisher. The service provider network must support cost controls, performance metrics, capacity requirements, company growth, and business continuity. * Partner with Transportation Managers to drive compliance with a Core Carrier routing strategy, while managing transportation cost, quality and service to expected levels. * Develop and drive strategic transportation sourcing projects that consider current and future industry state and aligns to overall transportation strategic plan. * Identify and engage vendors; develop requests for quotations; and negotiate the best value possible. * Provide continuous operational improvement by ensuring contracted carriers deliver required and committed service levels. and driving costs down. Streamline the new-carrier identification process. * Provide direction and guidance on sourcing policies to ensure integrity, controls and transparency within the organization. * Develop market intelligence program that benchmarks key industry indicators/market price to ensure accurate price forecasting and risk mitigation. * Negotiate Transportation contract terms and conditions in concert with corporate legal and corporate risk. * Own the contract management process to ensure all transportation contracts are properly executed and up to date. * Own the relationship between transportation operations and freight pay and audit. * Understand the vendors' rate structures across modes in order to negotiate the best rates possible while balancing capacity, service and quality. * Carrier development including the analysis of new potential carrier service offerings. * Vetting of potential new carriers for safety, liability and insurance standards. * Ensure timely implementation and communications resulting from all rate, capacity and carrier assignment negotiations to required business partners. * Develop, validate and facilitate award scenarios, recommendations, executive materials, executive reviews and implementation of solution. * Ensure controls are in place and validated to support contractual, insurance and risk management compliance with current legal regulations. * Contribute to the development and implementation of Transportation Management best practices. How will you get here? Education: * Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Transportation, or other Business-related field * MBA preferred Experience: * 8 years of transportation sourcing experience and supplier management experience including domestic surface transportation and intermodal (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).
