Role Summary:

This position will support the fastest growing company within Baker Hughes. This is also an opportunity to work across multiple departments, and this role will provide a direct impact to the bottom line.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Provide category expertise to their assigned category

  • Responsible to deliver sourcing projects

  • Evaluation and selection of a high-performing supply base

  • Execution of Request for Information/Quotation/information/Proposal, and bidding processes, minimizing risk and maximizing value in terms of quality, delivery and total cost of ownership

  • Supplier evaluation, assessment, qualification, and selection processes, up to parts & process qualification

  • The negotiation of prices and terms with suppliers in order to meet specified quality, delivery and cost objectives

  • The review of the contracting process with suppliers in coordination the Contract Management Specialist

  • Collaborates with business stakeholders to develop and execute strategies to enable growth, increase margin, reduce costs, and rationalize the supply base.

  • Leads, facilitates, and implements strategic sourcing activities through a combination of tactical and strategic initiatives for assigned commodities and Product Lines.

  • Participates in and supports category management activities globally, as appropriate.

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with S&OP, Product Line, Operations, Quality, Engineering and Manufacturing organizations.

  • Negotiate price, capacity, payment terms, supplier chargebacks, and additional commercial terms and conditions, etc. with suppliers to establish various levels of supply agreements

  • Drive supplier/product qualifications to successful completion.

  • Contributes to detailed planning and execution of improvement actions with suppliers.

  • Contributes to assessment of current risk factors & market situations (geo-political, currency, etc.) and identification of opportunities.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor or Master Degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Manufacturing, Business or related discipline

  • Strong knowledge of supply chain and sourcing principles

  • Candidates having the ability to demonstrate sound business ethics and consistency with principles, values, and behavior.

  • Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, engineering or related discipline

  • Minimum 5 years of Sourcing/Procurement experience

  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate commercial aspects with suppliers.

  • Demonstrated ability to build and manage supplier relationships and long term partnerships.

  • Strong analytical skills and comfortable with figures and in collecting, analyzing and interpreting data

  • Strong professional relationship building skills, and ability to interface across the entire enterprise (Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, PL, etc.)

  • Experience with SAP - Supply Chain / Finance modules

  • Strong project management skills

  • Ability to interact with and influence all levels of the organization

The Strategic Sourcing Manager will have responsibility for the sourcing and supply chain management activities associated with NCI's building accessories materials and services spend category which includes Fasteners, Stamped Materials, Doors, and other sub-segment spend categories that support NCI's operations. Primary responsibilities will include: developing and executing sourcing strategies that deliver the best performance at the lowest total cost of ownership, managing supplier relationships & negotiations, driving productivity improvements, and working collaboratively with all functions of NCI. Major Duties and Responsibilities: * Leading cross functional sourcing teams. * Provide in-depth data analysis to support strategy development and fact-based decisions. * Lead the sourcing strategy development process. * Challenge historical paradigms. * Lead the supplier selection and negotiation process. * Drive the implementation of strategies. * Support the resolution of customer/supplier performance issues. * Develop a supply base that can support just-in-time manufacturing. * Develop and implement ideas to optimize TCO. * Develop supplier generated cost reductions. * Implement best practices. * Work closely with key stakeholders and functional areas of the business to understand and satisfy needs and requirements. * Assist in communicating strategies to the business units. * Performs other duties as assigned. * Estimated travel requirement is 20%-30% Competencies: * Experienced, knowledgeable and competent in sourcing materials and services associated with a manufacturing company * Experience working in a centralized procurement organization servicing multiple business and multiple facilities * Strong/experienced negotiator * Proven analytic, management, communication and leadership skills * Ability to lead cross-functional and cross-business unit teams; interact and influence with both internal and external management teams * Proven project management, time management and conflict management skills * Creative, strategic and innovative thinker * Proven track record and capability to perform at a high level * Key Deliverable: * Implement cost effective sourcing and category management strategies that ensure a competitive advantage based on total cost of ownership (price, quality, and service).
