The Role: Sensus, a Xylem brand, seeks to hire a Senior Solutions Network Architect. The Senior Solutions Network Architect will report to the Chief Solutions Architect. This career opportunity is best suited to the person that thrives on new challenges and has extensive experience to integrating technology into working solutions for customers.

Essential Duties/Principal

  • Collaborate with an experienced SmartGrid Engineering team to -

  • Assess current customer network architectures and propose solutions

  • Support Smart Grid communication Solutions as Senior Systems Architect

  • Leverage diverse skill sets in Network Application Software and Analytics, Radio Frequency Engineering, Basestations and SmartEndpoints.

Specific Job Responsibilities:

  • Work with local teams and apply specific experience to building smart grid communications solutions for gas, water and electric customers. This will include, but not be limited to providing pre-sales support.

  • Assist/lead in the development of technical work products for future global solution offering enhancements to be used for pre-sales and delivery efforts

  • Provide project delivery technical oversight for customers.

  • Participate in industry standards development focused on Smart Energy and Communication Collaborate with and lead customers on smart grid architectures and solutions.

  • Collaborate with Engineering teams on proof of concept projects Protocolsall the way through to complete network solutions projects.

  • Participation in industry standards focused on Smart Energy, and Communication protocols

  • Collaborate with Engineering teams on proof of concepts through to complete network solutions products

  • Collaborate with lead customers on smart grid architectures and solutions

Minimum Qualifications:
Education, Experience, Skills, Abilities, License/Certification:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Masters preferred.

  • At least 8 years' experience in consulting or infrastructure architecture development of communications solutions for Utilities

  • At least 10 years' experience in communications infrastructure implementation from strategy

  • Experience in

  • performing network or wireless infrastructure assessments

  • using consulting methodologies

  • architecting conceptual, specified and detailed infrastructure models

  • using modeling techniques

  • with communication, IP, SmartEnergy protocols

  • with real-time and high availability systems

  • leading technical solution integration for customers.

The Senior Data Architect will play a critical role in making sure that the underlying physical data structures in our enterprise systems map to a common logical data model. This person will be responsible for managing all of the data modeling activities across the Data Solutions program at Pearson. This person will manage a team of data modelers, coach them on data modeling best practices and conduct reviews of all data model artifacts. This person will ensure that models are certified via a data governance process and will make recommendations for continuous improvements of that governance process. SCOPE AND IMPACT OF JOB This role will work as part of Pearson's EA and Core Platforms team, reporting to the Lead Data Architect. The successful candidate will work with project managers to ensure timely delivery of data modeling artifacts, and with subject matter experts to ensure that the data models align with business needs. The person must have a strong background in relational database technologies as well as NoSQL technologies. This person must think holistically about data exchange and data transformation in a complex system composed of many loosely coupled subsystems. This person is expected to understand the principles of and industry standards for semantic modeling, and must ensure that those principles are applied uniformly across the enterprise. The candidate is expected to utilize the adopted tools to support the data modeling activities within the broader software development lifecycle. The candidate is expected to comply with all established department and personnel policies. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES The Senior Enterprise Architect responsibilities will include the following tasks: * Manage a staff of data modelers who are responsible for developing draft models for review. * Provide estimates for the level of effort required to complete modeling tasks. * Review and sign-off on data modeling artifacts produced by the data modeling team within the context of a broader data governance program. * Attend regular status meetings to update the project management team on data modeling task completion and risk management. * Ensure that data modelers follow established best practices. * Help develop data modeling training materials * Help complete conceptual, logical and physical data modelling tasks as necessary when the team is short staffed due to unplanned absences. * Maintain an enterprise-wide data catalog that exposes the data models to business stakeholders. * Collaborate with enterprise architects to choose the appropriate data storage and data transformation technologies. * Collaborate with data engineers to optimize data access and data processing. * Evangelize and explain the benefits of semantic modeling to the broader Pearson business and technical community.
