The Sr. Solution Architect will help to drive technology solutions for our IT Business Solutions team which supports the Corrugated Business Segment. You will be accountable for proactively and holistically leading and supporting activities that guide IT Business Solutions teams (BST) towards achieving targeted business outcomes in the context of technology solutions and initiatives. This role will be responsible for helping to find the 'right-fit' solution to business capabilities and requirements and creating solution architecture and design deliverables that addresses each of those needs comprehensively.
You will be expected to understand business drivers and business capabilities (current and future state) and work with the Enterprise Architecture teams to determine corresponding enterprise design and change requirements to drive the organization's targeted business outcome.
The Sr. Solutions Architect will keep abreast of emerging technologies and innovations to help identify new technology opportunities that will improve productivity in our mills, plants and order management processes, enable commercial growth, and improve our IT ecosystems.
How you will impact WestRock:
Provide consulting and advisory support to ensure projects are aligned with the overall application architecture within Business Solution IT team's scope.
Partner and collaborate with IT teams and business stakeholders to provide general system consultancy services, impact assessments, identify gaps, end-to-end solution designs, and cost models to meet business needs as well as business and IT strategic goals
Analyze business and functional requirements to identify and document impact of solution on environment and overall business/technical strategy and goals.
Coordinate functional requirements and estimates, ensuring a consistent hand-off to project and development teams.
Review and drive solutions that follow an approved architectural pattern(s). If not, escalate to appropriate levels.
Provide templates and standards for BST functional and development teams to use in developing and maintaining logical data models (e.g., User Interfaces, Data Flow Diagram, Entity Relationship Models, Data Conceptual Models, Data Element Mapping).
Provide leadership and guidance to ensure teams are documenting data flows and interfaces as part of functional solution using standards put in place. Review documentation for accuracy and assurance standards are being met.
Lead BST functional teams in the evaluation and selection of software products, as well as the design of standard and custom software configurations.
Ensure solutions can be implemented in the most cost-efficient manner successfully with a sustainable support model.
Leading strategic initiatives
What you need to succeed:
7 + years of application architecture, design and development experience for large, complex systems across multiple technologies.
7 + years of proven experience in defining customer requirements and solutions and project implementation.
Experience consulting business stakeholders in Digital Transformation efforts that involve significant organization, process, and technology change.
Track record in leading and aligning cross functional teams (IT and Business) in cross- domain solutions
Excellent communication skills to articulate the solution vision to senior leadership
Technology savvy with emerging technologies
