Senior Solutions Architect, Amazon Pay

The Amazon Pay integration team is responsible for removing technical barriers from merchants and platforms to ensure a timely and successful launch of the Amazon Pay product. Teams integrating are guided to integrate in a manner that promotes a smooth and frustration-free buyer experience. The primary functions of the team include establishing customer confidence in the solutions offered, conveying implementation best practices, and providing input and feedback from the field to the engineering teams developing the platform.

Solutions Architects engage with merchant and integration partner technical teams to integrate Amazon Pay into their website and back office systems. You should be an effective communicator, quick to learn new tools and systems, and flexible in the face of change. Our environment is fast-paced and requires someone who is comfortable working in a deadline-driven environment but we are dedicated to supporting new team members and providing them with growth opportunities.

Key job responsibilities

• Support pre-sales motion by ensuring potential customers have a strong technical understanding of Amazon Pay products and services.

• Act as product consultant/expert by learning how our products work, both from a technical implementation standpoint as well as a business process standpoint, and then leveraging that knowledge to help our largest and most strategic merchants and integration partners complete their integrations in a timely and quality manner.

• Maintain communication with management regarding project status, metrics, and risks.

• Write or lead customer-facing aids (guides, templates, webinars) about technical topics as a subject matter expert.

• Identify areas of potential customer dissatisfaction with Amazon Pay and work with relevant team(s) to improve the buyer/merchant experience.

• Potential for minimal travel (< 10%).

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related technical field, or equal experience

• 7+ years of experience in technical consulting, developer support and/or technical project management

• Excellent oral and written communication skills. Comfortable leading discussions with a wide range of audience from developers to C-suite stakeholders

• Working knowledge of JavaScript, CSS, HTML, and at least one of these development languages: PHP, Java, C#, Python

• Experience in the e-commerce, payments, retail technology, or software industries

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Ability to work independently and prioritize work based on impact to overall business goals

• Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills with an ability to determine an appropriate level of detail given project milestones

• Ability to lead or take a decisive role in projects with a strong bias for action; ability to effectively prioritize projects and meet challenging, recurring deadlines

• Ability to juggle many tasks and projects simultaneously in a fast-moving environment, and must be a self-starter who is excited about technology

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $122,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $239,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
