Key Qualifications

track record of crafting, implementing and delivering scalable, performant data pipelines and data services.Extensive experience in building solutions that scale out or scale up. Your multithreading experience and long range viewpoint on distributed systems mean you recognize when something is technically feasible, but a bad idea in the real world.Strong design and architecture background. You know which architecture, technology, and schema can make or break the success of a system.Strong analytical skills and experience with machine learning algorithms

You rigorously demonstrate on the best coding practices, while moving flexibly among technologies and programming languages.

Description

You will join our Maps Data Evaluation team. We're responsible for demonstrating statistical models and machine learning to identify hard-to-detect issues in Maps data.

You will develop batch and real-time data storage/management architectures.You will design and implement workflows for data science to apply statistical testing on massive data.

You will work multi-functionally to drive platform architecture and design, analyzing data, and producing insights.You will handle with data scientists to facilitate experimentation/prototyping.You will scale and integrate the most effective models into critical systems that gate releases and protect our customer experience.We're looking for a talented and passionate person to join this amazing team, if you feel this is you, we'd love to hear from you.

Education

We are looking for a highly motivated Sr. Software engineer with extensive data engineering experience to help build out the massive-volume data platform supporting NVIDIA's cloud platform services. Our data platform serves as the basis for advanced real time data analytics and monitoring for NVIDIA's cloud services. You will work on the collecting, storing, processing, and analyzing huge sets of data. The primary focus will be on choosing optimal solutions to use for these purposes, then maintaining, implementing, and monitoring them. This is an opportunity to handle billions of events per day, multi TBs per day, build systems at scale, leverage and contribute to open source technologies. What you'll be doing: * You design and implement critical high performance, large scale services and libraries * Build data pipelines for collecting & processing data from multiple data sources: from the point of ingestion to actionable insight * You partner with our other engineering and business teams to integrate your amazing innovations and algorithms into our production systems * Monitor performance and advise on any necessary infrastructure changes * You automate everything for measuring, testing, updating, monitoring and alerting the data platform * Build large scale distributed message queues with industry standard security mechanisms * You build next generation AI Streaming platforms leveraging parallel computing principles * Oversee Data Engineering development priorities * Drive data quality for a global cloud service that generates several billions of data points per day, producing 100s of metrics * We use AWS extensively, so experience with deploying to AWS, EMR and other web services will help you hit the ground running What we need to see: * Bachelors or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field and 5 years of software engineering experience * Proficient understanding of distributed computing principles * Excellent software development skills in one or more: Java/Scala/Python * Deep understanding with building real time streaming applications using Kafka * Experience in a highly-available big data ecosystem (Hadoop, Spark, Kafka) at non-trivial scale * Deep knowledge with automation and configuration management tools such as Jenkins, Puppet/chef, ELB * Excellent communication skills including the ability to identify and communicate data driven insights * Passionate about their work, loves problem solving and learning new technologies Ways to stand out from the crowd: * Contributions to open source and/or public GitHub profile and Kafka open source project * Deep understanding with CUDA parallel programming * Experience with infrastructure in Docker * Experience with Big Data ML toolkits, such as Spark ML, Tensor Flow etc. NVIDIA is widely considered to be one of the technology world's most desirable employers.
