As a Senior Software Quality Engineer at Tektronix, you will be using cutting edge technology and will be challenged to explore the boundaries of what's possible, bringing the digital future one step closer every day.

What Success Looks Like:

  • Own and lead the test strategy, test cadence, release criteria aligned with Tektronix's CI/CD directions.

  • Collaborate with Product Owners and Architects to define quality bars.

  • Develop and maintain test automation frameworks.

  • Never be satisfied, always see room for improvement and track the effectiveness of test methods to propose changes.

  • Participate and review product architecture, design, functional specifications and development of quality plans.

  • Participate in system, component, and end-user testing activities.

  • A thirst for coaching, mentoring and training test automation team members and the broader engineering organization on best practices, tools and techniques for building quality products.

  • Track and actively communicate quality indicators to management and drive actions for improvements.

Requirements:

  • 5 years of quality assurance testing experience.

  • 2 years of automated quality assurance testing experience.

  • Bachelor of Science degree (preferably a Master's, or more advanced) in any of Computer/Electrical/Software Engineering.

  • Embedded software development and manual & automation test frameworks testing experience.

  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to perform root cause analysis of defects in complex software components and services.

Desired Attributes:

  • Experience with both Windows and/or Linux application development and testing

  • Experience in the Test & Measurement Industry preferred

  • Strong understanding of QA methodologies.

  • C , C#, Python or other object-oriented programming languages.

  • Experience with large-scale software deployments.

  • Understanding of static analysis, code coverage and unit testing topics and tools

  • Experience with continuous integration (CI) and continuous deployment (CD) and modern build automation tools.

We are seeking a brilliant engineer to join our team and help us create high performance Test and Measurement solutions. As a member of this team, you will develop a broad range of features used by scientists and engineers around the world to create the technology of tomorrow. This position requires a keen and inventive mind, a passion for our customers and an uncommon dedication to quality. This position is critical to our platform development and the expertise of our team is second to none. Job Responsibilities: Duties of this position include defining and reviewing specifications, reviewing and enhancing architectures, developing and implementing algorithms, optimizing system performance and evaluating the implementation. This includes the development of verification and validation software. This new member of our team will grow to be a generalist who can work in any area of our application code. Our application software is developed using C , C# and Python and is the beating hear of the oscilloscope. Curiosity, innovation and excellent verbal/written communication and teamwork skills are essential requirements for this position. Requirements Degree(s): Bachelors in: Computer Science, Computer Engineering. Preferred Degree(s): Masters in: Computer Science, Computer Engineering. Skills required: * Advanced knowledge of C , C#, java and Python * Strong OOD experience including design patterns. * Strong knowledge of embedded systems development and memory/processor constraints for software scalability * Mastery of multithreading, memory management, and real time operating system concepts. * Knowledge of programming for both Linux and Windows run-time environments. * An understanding of, and familiarity with, precision electronics instruments; especially oscilloscopes. * Engineering tools & techniques: Git for CM, Jira and Jama for activity and requirements tracking. * Experience with Agile development paradigms, especially Scrum. Scrum Master preferred but not required. * Familiarity with Qt is a plus but not required.
