Senior Software Quality Assurance Engineer

The senior software quality assurance engineer will be responsible for working closely with our software development teams with the goal of building and maintaining a culture of quality. The candidate will be a part of a growing team that will aim to make a direct impact on our testing processes, test automation architecture and software development life cycle.

Job Responsibilities

• Build test strategies and test plans for business-critical cross-functional programs

• Leading cross functional software quality initiatives for improving test coverage and automation coverage on various levels of testing pyramid.

• Educate software development teams on best practices in software testing and help foster a culture of quality first.

• Developing testing tools and release processes to streamline software testing in various teams.

• Continuously review, assist and monitor release test plans and participate in test case reviews to help developers build effective, efficient and maintainable test cases.

• Actively pursue opportunities for improvement in practices, policies, and procedures and prioritize based on current regulatory environment, guides, and regulations.

A Day in the Life

• Actively contribute in execution and automation of various software testing activities.

• Build and execute non-functional tests to ensure the scalability and reliability of various frontend and backend web applications.

• Develop test strategies, test plans, and test schedules for new projects and software releases as well as reviewing other developers' testing activities.

• Participate in the release cycle by reviewing test plans to ensure teams have necessary test coverage and assist the release verification and validation process when necessary.

Educational Requirements & Work Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or related technical degree

• 6+ years of software quality assurance engineering experience.

• 4+ years of experience in test automation

• Experience in testing of image processing software application is a plus

• Prior experience in an FDA/Medical Device regulated environment is a plus

• Familiarity with IEC 62304 and other standards impacting medical software.

• Strong working knowledge of design controls and quality systems

Skills Needed

• Strong understanding of software testing principles

• Knowledge in cloud based micro service functional and non-functional testing

• Experience in building automated test frameworks for functional testing of frontend and backend applications.

• Strong Background in programming languages preferably in:

• Python

• Typescript

• Javascript

• C++

• C#

• Experience with GitHub, Jenkins and Jira

• Familiarity with Linux, Unix and Windows systems and/or scripting languages in operating systems

• Agile software development practices (Scrum/Kanban)

• Must be able to multi-task and adapt to the ever-changing requirements of a dynamic company.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills

This position has an estimated base salary of $100,000 - $163,000, a cash bonus, and stock options.
