Summary
The Senior Software Quality Analyst is responsible for testing complex Structural Engineering, CAD, visualization, manufacturing, Engineered Services or Business Management software. This role will design, create, document, and execute complex software test cases in a manual or automated method. The work also involves verification of bug fixes and enhancements, researching bug reports, verification of software requirements, and providing technical support. The Senior Software Quality Analyst is an active and critical member of an Agile Development team within the software development process and is a key part of the decision-making group to assess risk of various projects alongside software developers and product managers. The Senior Software Quality Analyst will also have opportunities for mentoring others on required job duties and cross-training across teams on all the applications within MiTek's software suite. This individual will have a clearly defined leadership role within the Software Quality team environment along with continuing to provide technical guidance and mentoring to all Software Quality Analysts.
Job Responsibilities & Requirements
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Demonstrates leadership within the Software Quality Analyst (SQA) team environment while continuing to provide technical guidance and mentoring to all Software Quality Analysts
Designs, develops, documents, trains and executes complex software test cases used for regression testing cycle
Independently designs and leads implementation of new software solutions from scratch, including activities such as developing project plans, coordinating projects, managing project team activities, communicating changes and progress, completing projects on time and on budget
Acts as a critical part of the decision-making group to assess risk of certain projects to determine appropriate timing and placement of development effort
Collaborates and contributes with Software Product Management and other development teams on software requirements to ensure that solutions are efficient, consistent, and fulfill business needs
Is an advocate for, and leader of continuous improvement efforts
Completes functional testing of new features and regression testing of existing features, and functionality for each new software release
Works and leads within an Agile software development environment, participating in commitment meetings, retrospectives, and planning meetings
Will have the ability to easily jump on any MiTek software team and make an immediate contribution
Researches bug reports from various stakeholders and provides Technical Support
Apply generally accepted Quality Assurance standards and techniques to ensure efficient program logic and data manipulation
Attendance during regular work hours and overtime as required
Evaluate and recommend technologies
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering and 5+ years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Advanced functional or technical knowledge to complex problem solving and process innovation
Ability to effectively present information and professionally respond to questions
Excellent planning and organization skills
Excellent verbal and written communication
Experience with Microsoft Office suite
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Proficiency with Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp or other drafting software highly preferred
Knowledge of or familiarity with 3D modeling and/or construction software highly preferred
General knowledge of building and construction
Experience with Robot Framework and/or Test Complete preferred
Familiarity with software development environments like C# or JavaScript
Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment
