We need your talent! Waters Corporation is currently seeking a Senior Evaluation Engineer, with a passion for delivering quality products, to joinour

Global Software Engineering team that is responsible for developing the industry leading Empower chromatography data system (CDS) application software.

The ideal candidate will have a background in chemistry, experience with Empower and be a creative, analytical thinker with outstanding problem-solving skills and the ability to understand complex products and technologies. You will work in a fast-paced, agile environment to develop test strategies, design test cases and manually test software to verify that it meets the product requirements. You will also work as part of a larger global team, collaborating to deliver high quality, on time software releases to our customers.

Responsibilities

The meaningful work you will be asked to lead:

  • Participate in the end-to-end software development lifecycle which includes user story creation and review and input for acceptance criteria; writing, reviewing, executing and auditing test cases; writing/updating project documentation and participation in various Agile ceremonies as part of an Agile team (retrospectives, demos, planning meetings, etc).

  • Work closely with team members from Marketing, Development, Evaluation, Technical Communications, Support and Subject Matter Experts as part of an Agile team to ensure the development of a product/feature meets customer needs

  • Mentor junior colleagues and third-party contractors on Empower software, project tool sets and software lifecycle process

  • Represent the product, the team and the company at customer and internal audits of Empower software

  • Operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of chromatography systems

Qualifications

Abilities that will help you be successful:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Analytical Chemistry or related STEM discipline

  • Minimum of 7+years of experience utilizing scientific data systems, preferably with Empower software. Areas of expertise should include processing, Method Validation and System Suitability

  • Excellent troubleshooting, documentation and communication skills

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks to successful project completion

Other Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in Agile/SCRUM methodology a plus

  • Knowledge of Algorithm Validation a plus

  • Software Process lifecycle knowledge/expertise a plus

  • Knowledge of Mass spec and other instrumentation (both Waters and non-Waters) a plus

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Waters Empower software

  • Familiarity with SpecFlow and Gherkin
