As a Senior Software Engineering Manager for Engine Productivity, you will have tremendous leverage. Your team will create systems to ensure high reliability for Engine releases, which will accelerate development of Roblox's core binary. That, in turn, empowers our global community of 2M+ developers to push the boundaries of interactive gaming worldwide. Your work will unify test automation, QA, automated testing in 3D simulated environments, and a novel crowd-sourced testing ecosystem. If you enjoy creativity, ambiguity, exercising a broad range of technical and social skills, and working with experienced and passionate engineers to create something new, you will be right at home on our Engine Productivity team. You will report to the Director of Engine Productivity.
This role is Hybrid and requires three days per week in our San Mateo headquarters.
You will:
Lead a key part of Engine's reliability effort by coordinating with product managers, tech leads, and individual contributors
Innovate technically and socially to bring these efforts into a whole alongside a passionate PM and engineering team
Plan the roadmap and team structures to create new ways for internal developers to automate their everyday work
You have:
5+ years experience managing a team of Software Engineers focused on automation initiatives
Experience automating reliability for complex systems, with experience leading in reliability for complex systems
Demonstrated innovation, able to think outside the box to achieve high impact with limited resources
Strong technical skills with the ability to guide automation of internal and external testing in 3D simulated environments for rendering, voice, multiplayer, and much more on a wide range of devices
Demonstrated technical skill in building careers and enthusiastic diverse teams
B.S.C.S. or equivalent experience.
For roles that are based at our headquarters in San Mateo, CA: The starting base pay for this position is as shown below. The actual base pay is dependent upon a variety of job-related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs and market demand. Therefore, in some circumstances, the actual salary could fall outside of this expected range. This pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. All full-time employees are also eligible for equity compensation and for benefits.
Annual Salary Range
$315,850-$383,910 USD
Roles that are based in our San Mateo, CA Headquarters are in-office Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with optional in-office on Monday and Friday (unless otherwise noted).
