JOB SUMMARY:

Vivint is hiring a Full Stack Engineer to help our multifamily team build the industry leading smart home solution for rental property owners and managers.

About us:

We are a small, startup-style team within Vivint where we are working hard to bring home automation to the multifamily environment. From making the residents experience better to giving the property manager the tools they need to manage their units, we are innovating and creating great solutions that will make our customers lives better.

What You Will Be Working On:

  • Work with our multifamily vertical team to build products for apartment owners and managers
  • Work closely with the other teams like mobile apps and embedded devices that integrate with the platform/backend
  • Design and build scalable software using Go and Python
  • Work in a fast-paced, self-directed, agile environment
  • Research and evaluate new technologies and tools
  • Participate in regular Innovation Days where you get to explore new unrelated technologies and projects
  • Work on cool stuff that you actually get to use in your own home
  • Create systems to handle lots of data from sensors, cameras, and user actions
    Implement features in full stack (from Go and Python backend to Vue front end, to Kubernetes deployment)

Requirements

What
Were Looking For:

  • Experience with well-known design patterns
  • Experience with queuing, caching, persistence, performance, and concurrency techniques
  • Experience building scalable, high-availability, low latency, and distributed solutions
  • Experience developing RESTful web services
  • Experience with: Go, Python, MongoDB, RabbitMQ, Redis, Elastic Search, Networking, Security, Data Privacy, PaaS, SaaS, Kubernetes, Docker, Microservices, JavaScript frameworks
  • Ability to create services with high uptimes and reliability
  • Web development with a SPA framework (Vue, Angular or React)
  • B.S. in Computer Science or related field preferred
  • 2+ years work experience
