Senior Software Engineer- Telematics

GEICO's Telematics Backend Services organization has an opportunity for a Senior Engineer on our Telematics team. Telematics is at the front of insurance innovation and our growing team supports high quality implementations for these cutting-edge products. Teaming up with analysts, scrum masters, product owners, managers, and directors, you will work in an agile environment to design, develop, deploy, and maintain the codebase. The candidate must have excellent technical, analytical, decision making, and problem-solving skills backed with good verbal and written communication skills. We are looking for a full stack developer interested in building first class user experiences. The ideal candidate will also have solid experience translating business requirements into technical requirements.

Responsibilities Include:

• Identify application or infrastructure issues and propose solutions

• Design, develop, debug and test service applications

• Collaborate with business partners and analysts to identify and/or create business rules required to meet business requirements

• Ability to work independently yet function as an integral part of a team

• Partner with other internal/external teams to capture requirements and deliver solutions

• Interact with senior management to present solutions, metrics and collect feedback

• Perform other ad-hoc support tasks as needed

Qualifications:

• Strong problem solving, debugging and application design experience

• Solid understanding of end-to-end application development and support

• Experience in designing and developing complex applications, managing security vulnerabilities, and maintaining compliance with industry security standards under minimal direction

• 4+ years of .NET and C# programming experience

• Working experience in CI/CD and Azure

• Experience in user interface, Angular, web service, and/or database development

• Good understanding of Azure cloud development, offerings etc.

• 2+ years of experience writing good, maintainable unit tests

• 2+ years of experience with version control concepts (branching, merging, conflict resolution)

• A proven track record of driving results and the use of metrics to provide solutions.

• Take personal responsibility for technical delivery collaborating with other senior engineers and architects to design robust, scalable technical solutions

• Experience with monitoring tools like Splunk, Azure Appinsights etc. is required.

• Experience working in an Agile environment

• Ability to work on multiple projects at the same time

• Passion to learn new tools, technologies, and practices

• Must possess a strong sense of ownership, responsibility, and initiative

• Ability to support multiple projects simultaneously and work in a fast-paced environment

• Ability and desire to learn new skills and techniques with a passion to innovate and provide high quality software for insurance applications

Annual Salary

$82,000.00 - $236,500.00

The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate's work experience, education and training, the work location as well as market and business considerations.
