The Team:

The Austin team is known for its innovative culture, passionate about technology, and pushing the envelope on the convergence of silicon, cloud, and mobile. We are looking for engineers that want build greenfield solutions for a software stack from embedded devices to the cloud.

What you will do:

  • Get to work on all layers of our Cloud platform

  • Develop new skills on how we service embedded devices using this platform

  • Help drive the development/design of our React/Node platform

  • Scale the platform to manage hundreds of thousands of IoT devices to a billion

  • IoT devices
  • Work with AWS

React.js, Node.js, AWS, Redis, PostgresSQL, Linux

Requirements

  • Learn our existing system and come up to speed fast

  • Solid full stack development skills

  • Take responsibility for building out features from prototype to production

  • Share ownership of the product and willingness to help improve all aspects of it

  • Attention to detail and desire to produce high quality work

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities (Key Competencies):

  • Demonstrated skill in JavaScript/Node.js and PostgreSQL

  • Experience with at least one modern client-side JavaScript framework or library (React, Angular, Ember)

  • Practical skill in HTML, CSS usage and developing for modern web browsers

  • Broad understanding of web technologies up and down the stack

  • Understanding of internet security issues and mitigation strategies

  • Demonstrated ability to self-train and understand the quickly evolving web space

  • Ability to effectively prioritize individual and team deliverable

  • Ability to work as part of a small, fast moving team; to think on your feet and communicate ideas clearly

  • Design and develop software components for high availability and high performance cloud solutions.

  • Strong debugging skills and ability to understand unfamiliar code

  • Natural problem solver with the ability to "think out of the box"

  • Excellent communication skills, including strong command of the English language, in both written and spoken form

  • Previous exposure to embedded development

  • Exposure to AWS or other cloud infrastructure services

  • Familiarity with JIRA, GIT, agile concepts, test driven development

  • Highly proficient with the Linux shell and the text editor of your choice

Education and Experience

  • Degree in Computer Science is preferred, or equivalent professional experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
