Senior Software Engineer - Secret Clearance

These applications may be specific to afloat Navy vessels and systems. As a result, any experience with afloat Navy combat, EW, radar, or other C4ISR systems is helpful.ResponsibilitiesWhat You'll Do: * In this role you will lead an Agile Scrum development team to produce professional software applications to provide enhanced functionality to Navy vessels and systems. Additionally, you may work alongside our Machine Learning Engineers to implement new Machine Learning advancements to legacy software applications.Key Responsibilities: * Lead a software development team that writes full software applications that provide functionality for our customers. Applications are usually tailored to a specific RF related activity or system. * Provide quick turn tailoring of current software to new/adapting customer requirements. * Develop and maintain automated unit tests and manual functionality tests. * Peer review the work of other software engineers and provide constructive feedback. * Participate in project meetings including Agile/Scrum grooming, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and daily stand-ups. * Collaborate within an agile software development process with software engineers, subject matter experts, and stakeholders. * Write software documentation and justify software development process to customers as required. * Properly comment software code to ensure knowledge transfer to future developers. * Coordinate with the customers and other team members to ensure problem solution, appropriate risk reduction, and user satisfaction. * Work with a team to conduct software engineering best practices, such as code reviews, unit testing, and software static analysis. Be able to implement new software development process metrics as they are required by the government customer. * Conduct research into new coding techniques and ways to improve our software products. * Mentor Software Engineers to allow for skill/knowledge development through advice, coaching, and training opportunities. Act as a Scrum Master for an Agile Scrum development team.QualificationsRequired Qualifications:Education: * Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.Experience:* 5 or more years of experience in software design, engineering, or programming. * Must have experience writing software for science or engineering projects. * Experience with a source control tool such as git. * Experience with a software lifecycle management tool such as Azure DevOps. * Experience with the successful design, development and implementation of multiple software components and systems. * Experience working as part of an Agile Scrum development team. * Development experience in both Windows and Linux operating systems. * Experience with writing unit tests. * Experience performing code reviewsClearance: * Active and maintained Secret Security Clearance.Technology: * Basic office equipment and developer computers/servers.Location: * Work is in Dahlgren Virginia with opportunities for remote work / telework. Work will be performed in an office or remote environment approximately 95% of the time. Some onsite customer work may be required. Local travel is required with the possibility of regional and international travel as needed, expected less than 5% of the time.Preferred Qualifications: * Solid experience developing in C#. * PostgreSQL or SQL and Database Operations. * Experience with one of the following machine learning frameworks: scikit-learn, pytorch, tensorflow. * Experience acting as a Scrum Master for an Agile Scrum development project. * Object-oriented languages and web development technologies* C#, JavaScript/TypeScript, Angular, Material Design, SQL (especially PostGreSQL), Entity Framework, SignalR/Websockets * Docker and containerized web services * Visual Studio * Experience working with/supporting U.S. Navy projects and programs. *What We Bring:*
