Pickle is a rental marketplace that aims to monetize the billions of underutilized assets sitting in consumers closets and brands inventory. Users can easily tap into shared closets within their community through flexible and/or on-demand delivery options. Our goal is to provide affordable and convenient access to quality items exactly when our users need them. We are starting with P2P clothing/accessories and expanding to other categories.

We are looking for a senior engineering to lead technical design and development at an early stage start up. This individual will be responsible for optimizing the companies tech stack, creating and approving tech designs, implementing production quality code, and managing a team of engineers. This role will be crucial in driving innovation, scalability, and reliability as we aim to revolutionize the sharing economy.

Requirements

We are looking for a software engineer to implement technical design and development at an early stage startup. This role will be crucial in driving innovation, scalability, and reliability as we aim to revolutionize the sharing economy.

• 5+ years of professional work experience as an engineer
• Professional experience building and deploying high quality web applications across the full stack
• Proficient in React Native and Python
• Experience working with cloud services, ideally AWS (Lambda, DynamoDB, S3, Cognito, AppSync, etc.)
• Collaborative working style with a strong focus on execution and results

Nice to have

• Experience working on an engineering team at a fast paced startup
• Experience scaling a tech stack

Responsibilities

• Help shape our infrastructure, technical architecture, and engineering best practices.
• Drive decisions that influence the product design and application functionality.
• Tackle key challenges that come with rapidly scaling an application.
• Develop high-quality production code and provide thorough code reviews to other engineers.
• Work closely with the CEO and the engineering team to shape the engineering culture.
• Find creative solutions to problems that come with tapping into a new market and a rapidly scaling user base. Some examples include minimizing customer support outreach volume and personalizing item recommendations for each user.
