As a Senior Backend Engineer on the App Orchestration team, you will spearhead the development of robust backend services essential for our universal app's core functionalities, including Authentication, Social Graph, and Payments. Your responsibilities will also extend to crafting innovative solutions for managing the delivery of configuration attributes to the app. Working within a horizontal team structure, you will closely collaborate with multiple teams to create and implement the best possible backend solutions, ensuring seamless adoption across multiple domains. You will:

• Design and implement innovative features across various domains and devices globally.

• Develop backend services that scale to support millions of users of our Universal App.

• Contribute to system design, gathering feedback, and iterating as needed to optimize performance and functionality.

• Prioritize and take ownership of projects from design to deployment, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality outcomes.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to build end-to-end optimized features.

• Drive the adoption of next-generation technologies and practices to establish cutting-edge standards for the backend stack.

You have:

• 6+ years of expertise in designing robust and large-scale distributed backend services.

• Hands-on experience with REST, API design patterns, and building scalable containerized systems and microservices.

• Proficiency in any object-oriented languages like Java, or C#, with a focus on setting high architectural standards.

• Customer-centric approach with exceptional skills in cross-team collaboration.

• Demonstrated track record of developing and delivering products to production within the backend domain.

For roles that are based at our headquarters in San Mateo, CA: The starting base pay for this position is as shown below. The actual base pay is dependent upon a variety of job-related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs and market demand. Therefore, in some circumstances, the actual salary could fall outside of this expected range. This pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. All full-time employees are also eligible for equity compensation and for benefits.

Annual Salary Range

$233,840-$283,780 USD

Roles that are based in our San Mateo, CA Headquarters are in-office Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with optional in-office on Monday and Friday (unless otherwise noted).
