A platform-as-a-service company, located within the Greater Boston Area (but hiring fully-remote during COVID), is hiring multiple Senior Software Engineers with professional Scala development experience. This team is currently looking to expand, and because of this want to bring one these new engineers as soon as possible. If you are looking to work at a company that will allow you to advocate for new technologies, work on multiple projects at once, and design and architect new systems then this is the role for you!

This specific team hiring is responsible for being the future of all data relations for this company. Their primary focus is building out large scale prototypes that implement data in their products.

Ideally, these new hires will have minimally 2+ years of development experience using Scala, along with distributed systems experience. These hires will be brought on a 3 month contract, which will then become full-time.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 2+ years of professional experience with:

  • Scala.

  • Distributed Systems experience.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related field.

Desired Skills & Experience:

  • Ability to multitask and work on various projects at once.

  • Collaboration experience with teammates and/or clients, along with experience as an individual contributor.

What You Will Be Doing:

Daily Responsibilities:

  • 85% Hands On.
  • 15% Team Collaboration.

The Offer:

  • Competitive Pay: Up to $100/hour. Once position turns full-time can be up to $200k/year.

Job Description: Our Systems Engineers use engineering and math skills to define the architecture of the system (the "pieces" and how they interact), the performance and functional requirements of the system (what the system must be capable of doing and how well), the subsystem design and requirements (what components are needed and how they must perform), and the integration of the components into the overall system. Specific job responsibilities will likely include search/track/discrimination algorithm development, performance assessment trade studies, and analysis of sensor signal and data processing. Systems Engineers use MATLAB regularly to conduct data analyses. Candidates should be comfortable working independently and in a team environment. Required Skills: * Candidates must have currently enrolled or completed an Bachelor's degree no more than 18 months prior to start date, with an emphasis in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace, Computer Science or Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics or related technical field. * This position requires the eligibility to obtain a security clearance. Except in rare circumstances, only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
