Cardiac Rhythm and Heart Failure offers devices and therapies to treat abnormal heart rhythms, as well as cardiac diagnostic and monitoring solutions.

Perform verification test activities for Cardiac Rhythm and Heart Failure (CRHF) Software products on our enterprise Clinician and Patient Care Management system. Develop tests for web based, mobile, and custom medical device applications by designing, implementing, and executing tests for the verification of software requirements.

The ideal candidate is a software engineer with object oriented programming experience capable of analyzing software requirements, defining extensible test scenarios, and developing automated tests (C#, Java, Typescript) to verify web based software in the medical device industry.

A Day in the Life

  • Analyze, understand, and review software requirements.

  • Interface with product owners and software developers to clarify expected software behavior.

  • Develop and execute automated tests that verify software requirements.

  • Develop or enhance the automated test framework and tools.

  • Establish and maintain traceability from software requirements to verification tests.

  • Participate in the technical review of verification tests and results.

  • Assist scrum team with debugging and solving issues discovered during test.

  • Provide solutions to a wide range of problems that are imaginative, thorough, practical, and consistent with organizational objectives.

  • Estimate effort and duration of tasks and develop and execute plans and strategies to complete the work on time.

  • Operate electronic testing equipment.

  • Prepare, review, submit, and maintain project/product documentation.

Must Have: Minimum Qualifications

  • B.S. in Engineering or related field with 4+ years of experience.

  • M.S. in Engineering or related field with 2+ years of experience.

  • Proficiency with one or more of the following programming languages: C#, Java, Typescript.

  • Experience analyzing requirements and defining test cases.

  • Excellent problem solving, analytical skills and technical troubleshooting skills.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience developing automated tests.

  • Experience using SpecFlow, Cucumber, or Gherkin.

  • Experience using Selenium, Protractor, or Coded UI.

  • Experience with the Page Object Model and with API development and test.

  • Understanding of both Agile and Waterfall software development methods.

  • Understanding of one or more of the following operating systems: Windows, Linux, Android and iOS.

  • Understanding of HTML, CSS, SQL, Hadoop, XML/XSLT, JSON.

  • Quality focus, willingness to learn, versatility and adaptability.

  • Good organizational skills and strong written and verbal communication.

  • Ability to work on cross-functional project teams comprised of software verification and development engineers, system engineers, human factor engineers and quality engineers.

  • Understanding of one or more of the following tools: Visual Studio, Team Foundation Server, Microsoft Test Manager, Visual Studio Team Services, Test Hub.

  • Design/test experience working within a regulated environment.

  • Experience with software version control tools.

Candidate will develop and provide recommendations to the existing framework for these highly visible mission critical applications. Candidate will serve as a primary escalation point for testing support/troubleshooting for less experienced staff and the overall platform. Candidate will support general activities such as but not limited to: provide oversight and participate in overall project/systems testing, code automated test cases and maintenance of existing test cases, conduct code reviews, peer reviews, setup and maintain test data, metrics reporting to overall platform leads and managers to ensure platform release changes are deployed into production with high quality and defect free.
