Job Description: Summary
The Senior Software Engineer position is a key SW development role within General Imaging (GI) Ultrasound with responsibilities extending to the development of system software and applications within the GI Ultrasound business. You will develop Software solutions for the next generation products using the latest Software development methodologies & tools.
Roles and Responsibilities
Duties include (but are not limited to):
Work closely with cross-functional teams in requirements gathering and software design
Interacting with global teams to promote consistency and maximize synergies across common software platforms
Managing design evolution across multi-generation product releases
Able to join the team and gain mastery of the Ultrasound domain and contribute towards the development Software Infrastructure.
Leveraging technical and clinical depth to work on business initiatives aimed at innovation and quality excellence.
Developing subsystem designs and applying in-depth knowledge of product related technologies, technology platforms, architectures, engineering design principles and advancements
Be responsible for defining, developing, and evolving software in a fast paced and agile development environment using the latest software development technologies and infrastructure
Translate requirements / vision into prioritized list of user stories and deliver to required timelines and quality standards
Work with product line leaders and architects to develop multi generation software technology plans
Drive increased efficiency across the teams, eliminating duplication, leveraging product and technology reuse
Support process improvements which guide the development, sustaining & support activities
Work cross functionally with other business departments to align activities and deliverables
Drive world-class quality in the development and support of products
Ensure team receives consistent messages and has clear understanding of business direction, strategy and results
Engage subject matter experts in successful transfer of complex domain knowledge
Apply principles of SDLC and methodologies like Lean/Agile/XP, CI, Software and Product Security, Scalability, Documentation Practices, refactoring and Testing Techniques
Write code that meets standards and delivers desired functionality using the technology selected for the project
Understand performance parameters and assess application performance
Work on core data structures and algorithms and implement them using technology chosen
Proactively share information across the team, to the right audience with the appropriate level of detail and timeliness
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or "STEM" Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) with minimum 4 years experience
Experience in object oriented design methodology and various programming languages, including C/C++
Good knowledge of computer graphics and image processing algorithms and techniques
Working knowledge in configuration management tools such as Perforce, GIT, ClearCase, etc...
Experience in working with Windows API and application programming.
Experience in software platform, advanced applications, user-interface design and/or systems engineering especially in the healthcare domain -preferable Ultrasound.
Good skills in knowing how to debug software issues.
Experience with multicore and multi-threaded software design and computing environment.
Demonstrated experience with development of medical device software
Experience with Windows based programming
Experience working on software projects in the Healthcare domain
