Ancestry is looking for a talented Senior Software Backend Engineer to join our Platform Services Team in Lehi, UT. The Platform Services Team is responsible for taking family history content and combining it with genomic data to create new features. The primary objective of our team is to work with big data to provide insights for our customers. These services are critical to the business because they enhance personal journeys of discovery across family history and DNA. As a Software Engineer on this team, you will work alongside other passionate engineers to build and maintain the Ancestry ThruLines services as well as other future offerings.
Combine family history content and genomic data to create great new features
Build and maintain the Ancestry ThruLines services
Work alongside UX and UI teams as one vertical team
Who you are...
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent required
5+ years applicable experience
Highly Proficient in Java and creating backend services
Experience working with containerization, specifically Kubernetes
Good understanding of performance and scalability
Experience with AWS (Amazon Web Services)
Experience with EMR (Elastic Map Reduce) and Fargate is a plus
