A Senior Software Developer, Team Lead is responsible for ensuring our customers' success by creating best-of-breed solutions to business challenges. A Senior Software Developer, Team Lead's daily responsibilities include: participating in Agile meetings, working with team members and architects to build and enhance systems and programs, performing code reviews, and working to support products as needed. Also, Senior Software Developers, Team Leads are asked to direct the day-to-day activities of a scrum team, working with the software development manager and scrum master to make sure product objectives and timelines are met.

Role Responsibilities

  • Taking commercial products from conception to market

  • Building software in a collaborative Agile environment

  • Writing unit tests, performing code reviews, and taking other steps to produce quality deliverables

  • Managing source code using Git

  • Mentoring/coaching junior developers

  • Producing code that aligns with best practices and improving overall code quality

  • Working with a team to meet project goals

  • Delivering quality software on a communicated project deadline

  • Use creativity and analytical problem solving to build solutions our client can take to market

  • Design, test, deploy and maintain one or more software products

  • Collaborate with team members to produce software

  • Work with the architecture team to make technical recommendations

  • Provide technical guidance and thought leadership to Agile team

  • Monitor code quality and adherence to standards to reduce defects

  • Direct daily team activities in accordance with objectives set forth by product leadership

  • Building testable, scalable software that can be deployed in a SaaS environment

  • The ability to build back-end software in C#/Java or front-end software in JavaScript with minimal oversight

  • Being passionate about creating great software

  • Ability to articulate rationale behind technical decisions

  • Desire to help team members produce better code

  • Concern over software quality and following Agile software processes

  • Team leadership in an Agile environment

?Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree computer science, management information systems or related field

  • At least 10 years' full life-cycle development experience as a back-end developer in C#/Java or 3 years' front-end development with modern JavaScript frameworks (Angular, React, Aurelia, etc.)

  • 3+ years' work in an Agile Scrum environment as a senior developer

  • For C# developers, experience with DotNet core is highly preferred

  • For Java developers, experience with one or more facets of the Spring stack is a plus

  • At least 4 years' experience with relational or NoSQL databases (SQL Server is highly preferred) and creating SQL statements

  • At least 4 years' experience with HTML, CSS, web fonts, and Bootstrap are also highly preferred

  • Experience with TypeScript is highly desirable

  • Candidate must be able to effectively communicate in English (written & verbal)

  • Candidate must have permanent authorization to work in the USA for any employer

Thus, through our enriching internship program, we help develop the next-generation of engineers and technologists. As a Software Development intern, you will be involved with developing and maintaining functionality related to the ANSYS MAPDL application and Mechanical product line. The immediate work will be to test Ansys/Mechanical APDL development and finite element method in general with state of the art technology. Other areas of work may include developing and creating technology demonstration example problem, benchmark problem for the general MAPDL nonlinear solution. Experience in mechanical, civil, engineering mechanics or aerospace engineering with strong numerical simulation and computational mechanics background is required. This is a 40-hour per week paid position, starting May 2019 and concluding August 2019, with potential to extend through December 2019. RESPONSIBILITIES * Test features in the MAPDL application according to project requirements and established quality standards * Create unit and regression tests to thoroughly validate new features or changes. * Work with developer to diagnose and resolve defects * Communicate clearly and work closely with manager, technical leads and other engineers to develop and create technology demonstration problem and benchmark problem MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS * Pursuing a MS or PhD degree in mechanical, civil, engineering mechanics or aerospace engineering with strong numerical simulation and computational mechanics background * Must be currently enrolled in a full-time degree program and returning to the program after the completion of the internship * Strong numerical simulation experience in development and application of Finite Element Analysis techniques is required * Sharp and tenacious problem-solving skills * Team player, responsible, and motivated PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS * Pursuing a PhD degree in mechanical, civil, engineering mechanics or aerospace engineering with strong numerical simulation and computational mechanics * Experience in finite element analysis and solver nonlinear solution procedure are a plus. * Working knowledge of the Linux operating system CULTURE AND VALUES Culture and values are incredibly important to ANSYS.
