We are looking for an engineering leader for CloudFront in Portland, WA to innovate and solve the hardest problems in scale, security, availability, and performance. An ideal candidate must have experience dealing with ambiguity and should enjoy building and operating one of the largest systems in the world with a relentless focus on operational and engineering excellence. This leader will own control plane, logging, reporting, and database aspects of the service. This leader's responsibilities will include all aspects of the service experience: Operational excellence, designing and building the software, and delivering on customer performance and scale expectations. A successful candidate must have strong technical depth and ability to grow team, code, and customer outcomes at a rapid pace. Self-ability to directly work and manage junior and senior engineers along with a strong focus on operational and engineering excellence is a must.

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field

  • 7+ years of experience writing code

  • 7+ years of experience in engineering management

  • 5+ years of experience of working on a very large scale secure system

  • A Master's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field

  • Strong object oriented programming skills

  • Ability to directly lead and manage junior and senior Software Engineers

  • Ability to recruit, hire, mentor, and coach Software Engineers at different levels of experience

  • Experience owning all operational metrics and operational excellence for teams' software

  • Practical experience with software engineering best practices

  • Experience working on , Internet performance, or Internet security

  • Has a track record of team building, agile processes, and service development

  • Has taken software products and services from inception to being used by millions of users

  • Has a track record of successfully participating in roadmap prioritization with product management; able to successfully communicate complex topics to customers and business executives alike

The internship program provides college students the opportunity to learn and practice job-specific as well as communication and teamwork skills in a creative work environment. Interns will gain first-hand experience with daily operations. Interns will receive hands-on experience working with teams of Engineers and Analysts with industry-leading, vertical software solutions in the construction market. Viewpoint offers summer internship opportunities in the following departments: Software Development Intern: As a Software Development Intern you'll join an existing agile development team where you'll help to create new foundations and functionality for our web offerings. Along the way, you'll learn a lot from our team and we hope you'll help us get better at what we do by challenging our assumptions and bringing in new ideas. Quality Assurance Intern: AS Quality Assurance Intern you'll design tests used to ensure that software operates within defined requirements. Implement test plans, automation, and validation strategies. Identify and investigate issues found during testing. You will work closely with software developers and software quality analysts to resolve issues, develop and maintain automated test scripts to reduce repetitive manual testing. UX Design Intern: As part of the Viewpoint UX team, you will collaborate with other passionate designers, developers and product managers looking to transform the way our customers do business by developing next generation SaaS web, mobile and desktop products which delight our users and drive business Required: * College student working towards a degree in computer science, business intelligence, or web content management. Applicants should be in their junior or higher year and plan to continue working toward a degree. * Applicants should have an undergraduate GPA of 3.0 or better. * Demonstrates effective written and verbal communication skills.
