The AWS Secrets Management team is responsible for managing and distributing credentials and secrets across millions of hosts deployed for internal Amazon use and AWS customers. This team owns the 'IAM Roles for EC2' feature, EC2 Instance Connect and AWS Secrets Manager services for AWS customers. This team owns some of the services that operate at a high-scale and high availability within Amazon. The team has been making innovative bets to improve customer experience in managing and protecting their credentials and secrets. As such, we are looking for an experienced software development leader to oversee design, development and operations of these tier-0 foundational systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify, define and drive long term product strategy for credentials & secrets management space

  • Own end-to-end product design and development

  • Hiring, mentoring, and retaining a best-of-class engineering team

  • Build and manage a team of Software Engineers and managers

  • Foster career growth and a strong team culture

  • Recruit, hire, mentor, and coach technical staff

  • Interface with our customers to understand requirements, define a roadmap and champion the teams towards timely delivery

  • Own all operational metrics and support for your team's software

  • Manage the agile development process and methodology to deliver incremental value to customers

  • Master's degree in Computer Science or related fields

  • Experience in managing software development teams and managing managers

  • Passionate about designing and developing simple solutions to complex, ambiguous problems

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Experience running and maintaining a 24x7 production environment

  • Deep understanding of large distributed and online systems.

  • Experience with very large distributed systems such as distributed database systems, storage farms, and/or horizontally scaled request processing fleets

  • Experience with hardware load balancer administration, network optimization, or other related and demonstrable TCP-level experience

  • Development Expertise in OOP, Java, UNIX, Perl, C++, XML, Web services, and UNIX tools

  • Experience with systems management or monitoring software

  • Automation or monitoring framework experience, deployment or development

  • Experience in systems and network administration is also ideal

  • Meets/exceeds Amazon's leadership principles requirements for this role

  • Meets/exceeds Amazon's functional/technical depth and complexity for this role

The AWS Professional services Business Management team is looking for a seasoned, dynamic leader with a background in leading large cross-functional, transformative, and enterprise-wide initiatives to enable our fast growing division to scale and ensure best customer outcomes. Your mission is to develop and lead a set of critical multi-year growth scaling strategies for the entire ProServe organization, looking end-to-end across key functions such as Sales Enablement and GTM, Capacity and Skills Planning, L&D, Portfolio, Resource Management, Engagement Delivery and Quality Frameworks, and Financial Planning and Management. You will partner with ProServe leadership and peer senior managers that lead these key functions, to analyze, design, and execute change across the organization. Your solutions will drive functional and global consistency, while enabling flexibility and relevancy needed within regions and specializations. In addition, you will lead our annual, quarterly, and monthly planning cycles and business inspection cadence, ensuring key actions are executed upon, and expected outcomes are realized. Your responsibilities include assisting the ProServe leadership in prioritizing business needs in a Chief-of-Staff (CoS) capacity, collecting requirements from both internal stakeholders and external customers, proposing executable solutions, writing quantitative business cases and solution evaluations, developing cross-functional roadmaps with critical path and dependencies clarity, coordinating schedules across teams and regions, and driving adoption of these strategies worldwide in the field. You will be expected to make appropriate tradeoffs to optimize time-to-market and clearly communicate goals/intent, roles, responsibilities, and desired outcomes to internal cross-functional and remote teams. This is a leadership position that will involve leading a direct and a matrixed global team of program managers, analysts, and operations managers.
