About the Role:

The Customer Data Platform team is building a new Tier 1 platform to unlock Remitly's next phase of growth. Our mission is to accelerate Remitly's product teams by offering them simple interfaces to integrate with, while abstracting the complexity of secure and compliant storage within the platform. We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer with deep experience building backend, distributed systems to help us lead large aspects of this mission. You will report to the Engineering Manager of the Customer Data Platform team.

You Will:

• Set the technical strategy for the team, in partnership with the EM and other senior engineers

• Lead large, ambiguous initiatives from inception to planning/design to delivery

• Mentor other engineers in the team, setting the standards for engineering and operational excellence

• Build backend APIs and systems, working with technologies like Go, RDS/DynamoDB

• Develop strategies for migrating older codebases at the company to use our new platform

You Have:

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience.

• 7+ years of software development experience

• Experience building mission-critical distributed systems with a quality and security focus

• Experience mentoring other engineers and providing technical leadership within a team

• Experience performing root cause analyses of issues that span multiple systems

• Experience driving alignment though clear, objective written artifacts (decision memos, design docs, strategy docs )

• Experience with Go, RDS and DynamoDB

Compensation Details. The starting base salary range for this position is typically $180,000-$225,000. In the U.S., Remitly employees are shareholders in our Company and equity is part of our total compensation plan.
