Description
SAIC is seeking an experience Senior Software Developer to work on development of the NAVAIR Airworthiness electronic Flight Clearance and associated mobile applications. The team is responsible for developing and maintaining NAVAIR ACO systems used to provide NATOPS flight manual and NATIP systems information manual publications for all U.S Navy and Marine Corps aircraft.
This position is contingent upon award news this Summer 2024.
This role has the option of being remote. A minimum of a Secret clearance is required.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Interface with the government customer with respect to project requirements, software design and development, test, and associated contract deliverables.
Manage development of and Electronic Flight Clearance, to include mobile apps in Android and iOS to achieve customer and fleet requirements, cost, schedule, and performance goals. Must follow a rigorous and traceable software development process.
Manage client expectations in daily interactions and sprint planning and review.
Plan and execute sprint planning and review sessions.
Establish a structure that increases efficiency and promotes proactive modifications.
Implement long term solutions and building blocks within the agile framework for improved reusability.
Coordinate with other projects to execute over all vision of the program.
Develop story points for AGILE sprints.
Apply forward thinking to suggest improvements to the processes, applications, and resulting products created by the project.
Manage and mentor junior software engineers and developers assigned to the team.

Qualifications
Required and Education and Experience:
Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering OR currently possess one of the following certifications: GSEC, GICSP, SSCP, Security+ CE, CySA+, CCNA Security
Six (6) or more years of relevant software developer experience.
Five (5) or more years of DoD Aviation or relevant experience.
Ability to manage multiple work streams at one time.
Ability to problem solve and identify and resolve software issues/bugs
Ability to provide peer code review

Mongo DB
Nexus or artifact management
GIT Lab
XML transformation
NGINX Webserver

Desired Experience with the following:
SQL (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and/or NoSQL (MongoDB) Databases

Experience with Kubernetes or Openshift

Experience with software package managers (npm, maven, etc.)
Experience with ES6+ JavaScript/typescript
Experience with functional programming concepts
Experience with Linux operating systems

Experience with issue tracking software (Jira, gitlab, etc.)
Experience with Rust
Experience with XML/XSLT
Required Clearance:
