Microsoft Azure Engineering is hiring to build the management, logging, audit control plane as a reference architecture for our enterprise cloud customers. IT organizations must balance governance with developer agility. Azure Virtual Datacenter provides a model to achieve this balance with an emphasis on governance and automation of infrastructure deployment. This role is focused on building a scalable set of tools to help customers manage applications and infrastructure in Azure. We are looking for some strong individuals with high customer empathy, good technical skills, and a passion for delivering a quality experience to our customers.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about:

  • Developing an Azure reference architecture for provisioning and monitoring applications and infrastructure.

  • Engaging with customers IT operations teams to identify proven system management practices.

  • Soliciting feedback from Enterprise customers and influencing future planning of the Azure platform.

This role is based in Redmond, WA. The ideal candidates will have some experience with Azure or AWS. Limited travel may be required.

  • 5+ years of platform operations and automation

  • Strong, demonstrable problems solving skills

  • Experience in IT systems design including operations management, logging, and audit reporting.

  • Infrastructure automation including PowerShell, Python, Azure CLI V2, Azure Resource Management, audit logging and reporting.

  • Self-directedness, team player, individual accountability.

  • Experience with Azure or AWS preferred.

  • Build telemetry & diagnostics solutions for monitoring scenarios and dependent services

  • Building an in-depth understanding of customers' expectations, using telemetry, feedback, and market perceptions.

  • Work with Product Teams to drive actionable feedback (experiences, gaps, bugs, reliability)

  • Identify key adoption and implementation blockers

  • Quickly adapt and ramp on new service offerings and OSS components required for customer scenarios

  • Implement reference solutions based on real world customer scenarios including well-known workloads such as financial, healthcare and other high value applications in the Cloud.

Release Analysis sub-group is chartered with 3 big areas: * Servicing Listening System Team drives insights into the quality of pre-release and in-market experiences for servicing events. This is done by monitoring both telemetry and social feedback from multiple sources, comparing to historical baselines, and driving business actions across the org to ensure highest quality customer promise is fulfilled. Social Media analysis, natural language processing, sentiment analysis, clustering, text sematic analysis and machine learning technique applied to Social media is a key for this team. This area will require data analysis, machine learning, big data skills, as well as passion for customer delight. * Workflow for E2E release activities in servicing Aggregate signals and states from every servicing stage and supporting systems (from bug approvals, check-ins, branch rotations, builds, packaging, publishing, flighting, quality Rings, Release and Post Release Monitoring) to Track and Visualize states providing transparency to release managers and shiproom, creating alerts if any issues are found in servicing workflow. Work involves working with big data warehouse, writing telemetry, applying statistics and math skills and well as representing the data in easy to consume Power BI dashboards.
