Currently, the MCIS group is seeking a motivated, mission oriented Senior-Level Computer Network Operations (CNO) Developer to provide support for an exciting program in the Vienna, VA area. Under ManTech's MCIS group you'll be part of our National Intelligence Solutions (NIS) Division which provides mission solutions to a wide range of Defense and Intelligence Community customers. This division consists of a team of technical leaders that deliver advanced technical solutions to government organizations. Our customers have high standards, are technically adept, and use our products daily to support their mission of protecting national security. The Senior-Level CNO Developer's responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Perform as the technical subject matter expert.
Design new capabilities and improvements to existing capabilities.
Manage teams (TTO's or technology focused) developing hardware or software based CNO capabilities providing direction to other CNO developers.
Provide design ideas for new capabilities or recommendations for improvements to existing capabilities.
Work on unusually complex technical problems and provides solutions that are highly innovative and ingenious.
Serve as organization spokesperson on projects and/or programs.
Manage the design, development, documenting, testing and debugging of applications, software, and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions.
Lead multiple projects developing hardware or software based CNO capabilities providing direction to other CNO developers.
Work and collaborate within an agile development team, but own the day-to-day testing or enhancement of software products through completion.
Engage with the customer or customer representative to fully understand the desired functionality and then strive to develop the best technical solution.
Expected to actively learn the environment in which the software solution will operate in order to articulate risks and constraints.
Understand their technical strengths and weaknesses, and works well in isolation (with peer review) on areas of strength and seeks subject matter expertise in growth areas.
Must have a strong understanding of software and Operating Systems fundamentals and feels comfortable applying knowledge toward development efforts on Linux systems.
Demonstrate solid problem solving and debugging skills to determine the root cause of a software defect.
Able to review and analyze technical documentation from Linux and other products to gain understanding for software solutions that interact with components within these systems, but also seeks to reverse engineer components to reveal undocumented areas of interest.
Has a strong understanding of "best practice" software design and organization, and expert command of at least one of the following languages: Assembly, C/C++, and Python.
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience with twelve to fifteen years of related experience with a minimum of six years of experience with the technology/tools specific to the target platforms.
Bachelor's degree, professional, or personal experience in the following disciplines: Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or Math. Please apply if you do not have a degree as some of our best hires are self-taught.
Demonstrated expertise with C and Python programming languages.
Expert knowledge of software development methodologies (e.g. Scrum, TDD, Waterfall), security concepts, networks, device drivers, and system internals are applied in daily tasks.
