We are looking for an outstanding individual who is skilled in developing clean, well-designed C++ code for solving complex problems. The individual will be an integral part of a team responsible for implementing new features and technical enhancements in ANSYS additive manufacturing (AM) process simulation solvers. The qualified candidate will have experience developing efficient, well-designed production quality code with technologies such as C++, C, and Linux.
Build, test, optimize, deploy, monitor, troubleshoot, and support simulation software written in C++.
Lead code architecture design for new and legacy code bases.
Implement a comprehensive testing strategy including unit tests, integration tests, and regression tests.
Actively participate in all phases of the development life cycle on an agile software development team, including design discussions, pair programming, code reviews, retrospectives, sprint planning, and demos.
Provide mentorship to junior software developers.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field with a minimum of 8 years of commercial experience, or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field with 3 years of commercial experience.
Highly proficient in C++ (at least 5 years experience).
Highly skilled with object-oriented (OOP) software concepts.
Strong analytical skills, ability to learn quickly, and strong attention to detail.
Good written and oral communication/presentation skills.
Willingness to help lead agile processes, strive for constant improvement, and work as a team.
Experience with high performance computing (e.g. MPI, OpenMP, GPU) is highly desirable.
Experience with algorithmic complexity analysis.
Experience with unit testing and test driven development (TDD).
Experience with Git and/or Git flow desirable.
Experience with Linux desirable.
Knowledge of agile software development practices.
