SENIOR SOFTWARE ENGINEERThe senior software engineer leads a team of software engineers for designing, automotive machine system software.
These designs will be a mixture of standards, past projects, and new.
This person works with internal teams (controls engineers, mechanical engineers, project managers, commissioning) external suppliers (controls design, software), and customers.
We have a broad customer base including traditional automotive (GM, Chrysler, Ford) and othersRESPONSIBILITIESAs a senior software engineer you will start a project at the beginning and follow it through final customer acceptance.
You will review customer specifications, standards / past projects, and lead a team of other software engineers in designing the complete software portion of the machine.
You will be responsible for producing a quality design on schedule, getting customer acceptance, reviewing software from other software engineers, and assisting as required while the machine is being built and debugged.
Some travel is possible for customer meetings, field checks, installation support, and commissioning.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTSThe following requirements are essential for this position: Experienced in designing software for industrial machines from scratch Competent in PLC and HMI design Able to work well in a team-oriented environment Must have good time management skills and be able to meet deadlines Experience in understanding and following customer specifications Experience in leading a team of software engineers Experience in Rockwell and Siemens PLCs and HMIs Good communications skills (written and verbal) Familiarity with IEC1131 languages (ladder, structured text, flow charts, function blocks) Ability to follow standards Ability to combine standards, past project designs, and new designs Ability to check software from other engineers for errors or inconsistencies Ability to read, understand, and interpret mechanical, fluids, and electrical prints Ability to draft standard software templates to be used by other software engineers Ability to estimate tasks and the duration of tasks required to complete a project Ability to manage software change requests and open issues Ability to write technical documents and reports.EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE Overall Experience a minimum of five years experience related to software design Job Training employees in this position usually require training involving on-the-job experience, informal training with experienced workers, and formal training with qualified experts.
Education a bachelors degree in electrical / computer engineering or electronics technology and a minimum of five years related experience, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.TRAVEL Travel may be required for visiting customer sites, external suppliers etc.
Possession of a valid U.S.
passport may be required.
Travel can be expected to assist in installing equipment and commissioning in the customers facility.

This position is knowledgeable in building systems and construction methods specifically in a health care environment. This position develops concepts and plans for facility growth or change in service as well as capital upkeep and replacement. The key role of this position is advisor to each individual facility managing director to assist in growth planning and implementation, as it relates to buildings and facility campus. This position has responsibility to oversee other Assistant PM and Regional PM as assigned to provide guidance on project decisions and regulatory interface. A Mentoring relationship will be required. Essential Job Duties Work closely with RVP, C-suite, RFM/DPO, FF&E and IT in the development of project scope and price. Differentiates between priority business needs and "nice-to-have?s" in order to assist in determining project priority and to resolve resource conflicts. Works closely with user groups to learn all aspects of user requirements in order to provide effective advice and recommendation. Ensure projects are completed on budget and schedule and that the projects incorporate the latest Behavioral Health/Acute best practices. Have the ability to manage multiple, large projects at one time with some supervision. Develop/engage project teams using a competitive RFP process. Assist in guiding project through local, State and Federal building restrictions and code compliance. Accurate budgeting, scheduling, logistics, ICRA, ILSM from conception through completion. Follow the CAR/PAC process for pre-validation, validation and request for full funding. Take a leadership role in finding new methods/approaches to help execute work faster and more efficiently. Challenge assumptions and bring new ideas to the table that could benefit the entire department in executing our role. Maintain a vendor ranking and ensure we reinforce success by re-engaging firms that perform excellent work and value the relationships in the system. Collecting historical cost and schedule data to utilize in predicting future cost and time to execute projects (send to corporate at projection completion). Ensure all parties on the project have executed a contract and have provided all the required insurances prior to commencing work. Ensure the highest ethical standards when dealing with our vendors. Ensure vendors compliant with the terms of the agreement and that the business terms agreed are fair to both the vendor. Use business term guidelines. Job Requirements Bachelor's degree, Master's degree preferred.
