Lead the central social media efforts through content creation and sharing, social listening and monitoring, and crisis communication and marketing support as a key member of Middlebury's Public Affairs team.
This is a full time, benefits eligible, salaried position with a hiring range of $60,954-76,207 per year.
Core Responsibilities:
Plan and execute responsive, timely, and measurable strategies for using social media channels to advance Middlebury's goals through engagement with all stakeholders and audiences
Monitor social media during crises to give leaders fast-evolving information and context to make good decisions; disseminate crucial information to stakeholders; and correct misinformation
Serve as a member of the Crisis Communications Team and advise colleagues on social activity and strategy during crises
Research and evaluate current and emerging platforms and industry trends to optimize social media opportunities, and recommend how we might adopt compelling new platforms or adjust our strategy for existing channels
Take primary responsibility for day-to-day tactics, monitoring, and management of Middlebury's central social channels and alert public affairs and other essential colleagues as needed
Develop original social content and curate/repurpose content from other channels that furthers Middlebury's communications and marketing goals
Provide institution-wide leadership (coaching, advising, analysis), especially with strategic campus partners in Admissions, Advancement, Student Affairs, and Athletics, to help continually improve the quality of all Middlebury social media channels
Monitor the effectiveness of social media strategies through quantitative and qualitative measures, providing regular reports to colleagues and leadership and recommending changes when needed
