The Senior Lead Field Engineer develops practical and innovative ways to identify and meet goals. In this role you are responsible for work that is less defined in scope, utilize your understanding and experience to execute business objectives, and have the ability to effect short-term and long-term business goals.

Your responsibilities

  • Provide excellent technical expertise related to Power Delivery applications/projects: Excitation, Synchronization, Relays and Protection equipment of large Motor-Generators. Performs medium to high complex Service tasks through the Power Delivery equipment lifecycle

  • Troubleshoots complex equipment failure and makes recommendations to avoid repeating the problem in the future. Provides local business ownership in assigned areas. Provide and direct the performance of quality field engineering services to all (internal and external) employees in assigned areas

  • Aggressively promote services sales to grow business in the area. Assist with proposals, including market intelligence on pricing, work-scope, terms and conditions. Participate in business planning including budgeting / staffing / forecasting / cost control

  • Establish and maintain business relationships with area customers, pole sales resources, and other ABB businesses to enhance position in marketplace. Assist in individual development of assigned personnel through coaching, mentoring, counseling, training assignments and business exposure

  • Perform field engineering service and project work to properly serve the local customers. Provide the leadership to balance customer service satisfaction. Develop and capture technical problem-solving knowledge, communicating with other organizations to enable effective resolution of customer problems and inquiries

  • Provide front-line technical response to inquiries received by the customer response center, identifying potential problems and coordinating troubleshooting activities with numerous internal organizations

  • Identify product failures and assist in identifying possible root causes. Manage communication among internal organizations and customer personnel to ensure effective product support and customer satisfaction. Distribute information on customer issues so that all members of customer support team share common understanding and objectives

  • Perform collateral duties as assigned to meet business needs as they relate to EHS, Quality, Integrity, etc. Provide leadership and technical direction to skilled labor performing work on customer sites. Apply project management skillset to manage both large and small projects to a successful conclusion

Your background

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or college (or a High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 10 years of experience in a support or field engineering position). Minimum of 10 years of experience in a field engineering role including a minimum of 5 years of experience in customer support and the development of successful customer relationship

  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that allows them to work for ABB in United States.

  • Bachelor's/Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering is preferred. Strong oral and written communication skills.

    Strong interpersonal and leadership skills. PC proficiency: Microsoft Office, Access, Project and AutoCad

  • Team leader in a dynamic, energetic, and proactive environment. Strong Project Management skills. Technical experience and prior field engineering experience is preferred with Power Delivery manufacturers such as GE, ABB, Eaton, Schneider, Siemens, Allen-Bradley equipment desired

  • Technical skills including transformers, breakers, switches, starters, relays, switchgear, etc. Six Sigma training or equivalent quality training

VIEW JOBS 2/8/2020 12:00:00 AM 2020-05-08T00:00 Technical Service Engineer Omnicell Technical Service Engineers (TSE) provide troubleshooting, repair services and scheduled preventive maintenance for the Omnicell's pharmacy and supply automation solutions at customer sites within a designated geographic area. Omnicell TSEs are dispatched as needed by Omnicell's 24x7 Call Center. Although TSEs focus mainly on hardware repairs, the Omnicell solutions are a combination of hardware and software and TSEs work with both. Responsibilities: * On site troubleshooting and repair of customer problems on Omnicell products * Meet company guidelines for response time and service levels * Differentiate between hardware and software product problems * Collect and report all customer and problem data in Omnicell database * Escalate product bugs, malfunctions, and design issues through support channels for resolution * Provide support coverage 24 hour/7days a week * Frequent local travel in primary area * Provide backup support in adjacent areas as needed * Participation in various staff meetings * Manage territory service quality and customer satisfaction; parts inventory and RMA process; * and software updates * Participate in various field projects as necessary * Troubleshoot customer issues over phone and provide remote support * Provide home work space and space for trunk stock inventory Knowledge and Skills: * Computer skills in the following areas: Database, Word Processing, Spreadsheets, & Graphics. * Computer systems skills: Windows 7, XP, 2003 SQL, Firefox & Networking * Basic electronics knowledge * Possess and excellence in speaking and writing English * Excellent interpersonal communication skills with the ability to work well with customers * Must have good organization skills * Must be able to lift 50 lbs. to approximate 5 ft. height * Ability to: * Multitask * evaluate multiple customer issues and set priorities * manage processes Note: The selected individual must have a valid driver license with an acceptable driving record, be able to meet company's insurance coverage requirements and have their own vehicle in acceptable working condition.
