About the role:
Reporting to the Global ASIC R&D Senior Director, Knowles is seeking an experienced semiconductor device modeling engineer to develop accurate CMOS transistor models for very low noise and low power MEMS-based microphones and related audio solutions.
Define test structures, measurements and test equipment to generate data and validate models
Adapt foundry models for improved accuracy of MOS (BSIM3/BSIM4) device models
Predict and explain behavior of low-noise, low-power analog/mixed-signal circuits using the developed device models. Experience modeling MOS devices in weak inversion is a plus.
Interface to semiconductor foundries and other technology partners (e.g. design tool vendors & IP vendors)
Review and analyze semiconductor process technology including foundry process technology, design manuals, technology files (for parasitic), process control data, process/device qualification reports, and design IPs
Work with CAD/EDA and IC design teams to develop/implement PDK of semiconductor process technology
Work with technology teams of Foundry for process variability / reliability data review, device performance/reliability improvement, process / device customization, physical defect identification, and process yield enhancement
Industrial experience in a semiconductor company such as integrated device manufacturer, fabless IC company, and foundry
Solid understanding & knowledge of fundamentals of process technology and semiconductor device physics; knowledge of circuit design is a plus.
Experience and knowledge with process technology is a strong plus
Experience in process integration (CMOS)
Experience in PDK development
BS in Electrical Engineering or related + 8 years of experience, or MS + 6 years of experience, or Ph.D.
