Tech Valley Talent (TVT), a woman owned business located in upstate, NY, is looking for a Senior Security Solutions Enterprise Architect for a Project with our client in Albany, NY. Please note that this a part-time position and will only be for 16 to 20 hours a week.

Job description:

The Consultant shall complete the following:

Perform a National Institute of Standards and Technology ("NIST") based Security Assessment which includes:

Reviewing existing OSC EA and ISO policy and NIST standards;

Reviewing and updating as needed OSC's security baseline document;

Evaluating the OSC security program using the security baseline document;

Assisting ISO to implement program improvements;

Reviewing the OSC network and confirming it aligns with ISO policy and NIST standards; and

Reviewing internal OSC Secure Sockets Layer ("SSL") and Transport Layer Security ("TLS") certificate creation and confirming that the creation aligns with ISO policy and NIST standards.

Develop Data Masking Protection Schemes by:

Reviewing current data masking processes and procedures;

Documenting data masking improvement opportunities; and

Developing training for users.

Assist OSC with Multifactor Authentication ("MFA") by: o Reviewing current MFA processes and procedures;

Documenting improvement opportunities;

Identifying systems or applications that may require MFA; and

Providing guidance with MFA implementation.

Assist OSC with Data Loss Prevention ("DLP") by: o Determining DLP security requirements;

Documenting required security settings;

Developing training for users; and

Providing guidance to staff as DLP is implemented.

Assist OSC with a Data Classification initiative by: o Reviewing current data classification processes and procedures;

Documenting improvement opportunities;

Developing training for users; and

Providing guidance to ISO staff.

Additional Information

In addition, the Consultant shall:

Work approximately 16-24 hours a week during regular OSC business hours (i.e., between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM Monday through Friday, excluding State holidays). There will be no off-hours work required.

Work onsite in Albany, NY. There will be no travel to offsite locations.

Report directly to the Chief Information Security Officer, with collaboration with the OSC Enterprise Architecture unit.

Mandatory Skills:

A Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or related IT field (4-year degree)

Current Certified Information Systems Security Professional ("CISSP") Certification

Five years of experience as a Security Enterprise Architect working in a federal or state organization

Five years of experience architecting secure data masking solutions in a federal or state organization

Five years of experience architecting and implementing MFA in a federal or state organization

Five years of experience implementing data classification in a federal or state organization

Five years of experience implementing information security DLP in a federal or state organization

Preferred Experience:

Ten years of experience as a Security Enterprise Architect in a federal or state organization

Strong communication skills, working with both technical and non-technical people, including:

Strong presentation and verbal skills demonstrating the ability to communicate complex security architectures to a non-technical audience;

Strong written skills with proven ability to document security and network architectures, procedures, and reports for a non-technical audience; and

Strong instructional skills for mentoring and knowledge transfer

Five years of project management methodology experience with information technology projects. Experience may include serving as the point of contact for project status, meetings, reporting requirements, scope changes/extensions, scope issues, and concerns raised by staff or project stakeholders
