Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and/or military experience
5+ years of experience in information security field
Proven experience with configuring, implementing, managing and administering security technologies such as anti-malware, system hardening, vulnerability management, intrusion detection/prevention, firewalls, security assessment utilities, and content filtering utilities, etc.
Experience with developing security best practices, standards and guidelines
Strong technical knowledge and understanding of security concepts, enterprise and cloud (Application, Web and Network security, Identity and Access Management, Security protocols, Cryptography)
Ability to quickly learn new technologies and determine their applicability within McKinsey's environment
Good working knowledge of current IT risks and experience implementing security solutions
Experience implementing key management systems and procedures
Ability to interact with a broad cross-section of personnel to explain and enforce security measures
Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as business acumen and a commercial outlook
Hands-on experience working with Microsoft client and server platforms (Win 7, Win 8 Windows Server 2012/2016)
Hands-on experience working with databases (MSSQL, MSSQL, Oracle etc) a plus
Good knowledge of Unix/Linux and MAC is a plus
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, problem solving as well as business acumen and a commercial outlook
Strong team-oriented interpersonal skills
Who You'll Work With
You'll work in our Waltham office as part of our Information Security team, within Security Architecture. Our Security Architecture team focuses on comprehensive IT security strategy and architecture that builds awareness and ensures the integrity, availability and confidentiality of critical data and systems for the firm covering both internal on-premise and in the Cloud.
What You'll Do
You'll work in agile teams across technologies, playing an active role guiding product owners and technical leaders in the security best practices, patterns and guidelines to reduce risk across the firm.
In this role you'll review current system security measures and recommend and implement enhancements. You'll develop a "go-forward" technical strategy for specific security technologies including, technical standards, processes, and procedures. You'll research designs and advocate for new technologies, architectures, and security products that will support security requirements for the enterprise and its clients, business partners, and vendors.
You'll operationalize encryption and key management in the cloud, as well as work with other IT Security team members to research, evaluate, select, test and implement hardware and software systems that provide appropriate security functions.
