As a Senior Security Analyst, you will provide expert technical direction, complex problem resolution, and leadership to Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) staff in design and implementation of information security solutions. This position is a hands-on technical position, playing a critical role in the determination and creation of ever-changing security defense mechanisms in place at the MDH. This expert security analyst will coordinate, monitor, and analyze information security systems at MDH. Candidates must clearly demonstrate all of the following qualifications in their resume.
This position requires a minimum of four (4) years of experience in an information security role that includes:
Experience in the support and maintenance of Enterprise Vulnerability Management tools and processes.
Experience with TCP/IP networking concepts and technologies.
Experience with system administration.
Experience applying information security technologies, including firewall, intrusion detection, vulnerability management, encryption, computer forensics, certificate authority, web, and/or security related application development.
A Master's degree in Information Technology or a related field may substitute for three years of experience, related Bachelor's degree may substitute for two years, or related Associate's degree may substitute for one year.
Successful candidate must pass past-employer reference checks and a criminal history verification

Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or the ability to certify within one year of hire.
Other technologies and certifications: CISA, CISM, Security+, PMP or other relevant information security or project management certification.
Certification in Security, Business Continuity, and/or ITIL foundation (i.e. CISSP-certified information systems security professional, ISSMP information systems security management professional, CBCP-certified business continuity professional).
Experience conducting risk management assessments and/or providing assistance in the identification, prioritization, and remediation of information systems vulnerabilities to diverse users.
Experience developing specific security solutions for a wide array of information security problems.
Knowledge of Information Security audit and assessment methodologies, policies standards, procedures and best practices.
Knowledge of Information security standards such as NIST, ISO 27001/17799, COBIT, ITIL, data privacy laws, computer crime laws, statewide data protection laws, etc.
