Your role at Clorox:

As the Senior Packaging Scientist for the Foods business unit, you will lead the packaging innovation program for Hidden Valley Foods. Collaborating closely with Marketing, Sales, Supply Chain, and Regulatory teams, you'll drive a pipeline of new and improved products. Your responsibilities include supporting product enhancements, cost savings, brand maintenance, sustainable solutions, and supply assurance. Your expertise will set technical standards and guide the packaging team toward excellence.

In this role, you will:

• Lead, design and execute project work, leveraging network of internal experts, external suppliers, consumer understanding, and packaging knowledge to drive technical solutions that deliver on project requirements.

• Lead the 2030 Hidden Valley packaging sustainability program through technical research followed by implementation. You will drive down virgin packaging by increasing the levels of PCR, you will improve recyclability with material changes, and seek out forms to enable reuse.

• Expert on critical systems and processes tied to product data management (e.g. PLM, SAP).

• Engage with procurement on the sourcing and selection of packaging suppliers and external manufacturers.

• Identify, scope and sponsor packaging research projects.

• Maintains and builds the R&D facilities packaging capability

• Trains, mentors, and helps on-board new and less experienced staff.

• Maintains contact with open literature, vendors, professional associations.

What we look for:

• 5-7 years' experience of development experience in the consumer product industry, primarily in a packaging development capacity, with relevant experience with corrugated case, folding cartons, pallet pattern design, rigid bottles, closures, and flexibles.

• Long range innovative thinking to drive new packaging solutions by managing pipeline planning with a focus on more sustainable cost-effective packaging.

• Experience co-developing with external suppliers and packaging partners.

• Experience of using modeling and simulation to create and optimize packaging.

• Strong science or engineering foundation with a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Science or Engineering required.

• Strong project management and risk assessment skills.

• Strong leadership, critical thinking, technical, communication and teamwork skills.

• Demonstrated business acumen.

Based on the breadth of our ranges, most new hires will start at Clorox in the first half of the applicable range. Your starting pay will depend on job-related factors, including relevant skills, knowledge, experience and location. The applicable salary range for every role in the U.S. is based on your work location and is aligned to one of three zones according to the cost of labor in your area.

-Zone A: $104,100 - $199,100

-Zone B: $95,500 - $183,300

-Zone C: $86,800 - $166,600
