Senior Scientist, Beverage - Erlanger, KY

Position Summary:

The individual holding this position is to provide senior-level technical expertise to strategic and complex beverage projects, within the Flavors team. This individual will independently provide and present innovative formulations that meet customer requirements, and may lead technical teams to achieve desired objectives for the business and for our customers. A high level of attention to detail is expected, along with a high level of success for project assignments.

Education and Work Experience:

• Bachelors plus 7 or more years of beverage development experience; Masters plus 5 or more years of beverage development experience, or PhD with 3 or more years of beverage development experience.

• This is a fast paced beverage development role.

• Past experience with strategic CPG/growth accounts

• Cross functional application experience required, including but not limited to:

• Functional Beverages

• Dairy/Cream Beverages

• Juice

• Liquid Water Enhancers

• Nutritional Beverages

• CSD

• Coffee

• Alcohol

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Lead multiple strategic and complex segment projects, while meeting objectives and schedules with a high level of competency

• Proactively communicate progress, results, and issues in a highly effective manner

• Work in collaborative manner with all internal groups to meet internal business objectives, along with customer objectives

• Present work to customers in a professional manner, with a high level of competency

• Establish technical-to-technical relationships with strategic customers

• May reduce formula costs on existing products, completing necessary stability and commercialization efforts, to optimize efficiencies and margins

• Understand and continue to acquire knowledge about product processing and ingredient/ingredient interaction

• May support production runs for select customers and/or projects; issues summary reports for each run

May participate in ideation, descriptive panels, design thinking / rapid prototyping, etc, as a means of product development
