Project Description

  • Responsibilities

  • Manage SalesForce project deployments including release and environment management

  • Lead developing functional solution architecture and design, application and integration development best practices, enterprise architecture standards, environment management, testing, and Force.com platform approach

  • Lead the integration of two SalesForce implementations

  • Design, code, test, debug and document software according to the functional requirements or user stories and coding standards

  • Investigate operational or systematic problems and user queries as required

  • Work closely with developers and a variety of end users to ensure technical compatibility and user satisfaction

  • Work within an Agile Scrum or Kanban process

  • Create unit test classes for all development objects in Salesforce

  • Identify opportunities for application optimization, redesign, or development within the platform that will support multiple business units

Skills

Must

  • Minimum 5 years of Salesforce Platform experience

  • Extensive knowledge in Lightning Framework, Visualforce development, APEX development and code deployment/release management

  • Experience with multiple SalesForce project deployments including release and environment management

  • Experience working in an Agile (Scrum) environment, preferably with Jira and the SAFe Scaled Agile Framework

  • Solid understanding of Process Builders, Workflows, and Flows

  • Knowledge of SalesForce integration patterns

  • Ability to communicate effectively and clearly, in writing and verbally, in one-on-one and group presentation situations

  • Strong ability to effectively mentor junior developers

  • Salesforce App Builder and Platform Developer, I certifications; Salesforce Platform Developer II certification a plus

Purpose Manages and contributes to the overall governance success of the Front Office Risk function in the United States ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team's business strategies and objectives. Ensures a framework for Front Office activities to be conducted in compliance with applicable regulations, and Scotiabank policies and procedures. Accountabilities * Assist in serving as a central governance function and help manage the day-to-day and strategic initiatives of the Front Office Risk & Control Group (First Line - 1B) * Assist in ensuring that roles and responsibilities are clearly defined across the functional departments (the three lines of defense 1A,1B and 2nd line units) on a continuing basis * Build out front office risk and control reporting structure and partner with 1B management to create and produce reports * Ensure consistency from a local US perspective with parent bank's policies, procedures, and methodologies * Help maintain a consistent approach to supervisory and first line risk policies and procedures with tailoring, as needed for a changing business environment * Help maintain the Front Office Risk & Control Group project management plans * Perform Quality Assurance function within the 1B team for various deliverables and work flows * Help maintain and establish escalation of risk and control information (breaches, limits, exceptions, etc.) throughout the established channels * Develop and facilitate front office training sessions * Assist in maintaining an inventory of key controls and conducting regular testing of key controls to assess their adequacy, in coordination with Compliance's testing * Assist in the facilitating a centralized point of contact between the front office and requests and other parties (e.g., Compliance, Internal Audit, Regulators, etc.) * Be responsible for maintaining a central repository and management framework (including periodic updates) for all supervisory, front office risk and control policies and manuals * Assist with administering a consistent application of best practice across deliverables, including reviewing the output of work product from SMEs to ensure consistency across the bank * Help ensure accountability for supervision remains with the appointed supervisors * Assist to centrally manage issues tracking and remediation efforts for all the issues attributed to the US based front office team. Liaise with the specific issue owners for periodic updates and help manage the closure process. Requirements & Qualifications * Ability to network, collaborate, and interview traders, and supervisors to attain necessary information for drafting written supervisory procedures. * Ability to develop relationships and coordinate with Compliance, Operational Risk, Audit and other control functions * Effectively resolve differences in professional opinion encounters.
