Position Summary

Through our transformation journey, the Consumer Tire Replacement business is focused on building operational excellence within our sales teams. In order to support the teams, a role has been developed that will focus on sales, category, and competitive trends impacting our monthly business performance and annual plan.

Individuals in the role will assess business performance each month by evaluating sales trends, new/discontinued items, competitive activities, and customer decisions that will impact future product needs. This analysis will be used to lead the sales teams through the monthly forecasting process, facilitate joint customer collaboration meetings, and contribute to other cross functional meetings throughout the organization. When issues arise, the individual will use data and their knowledge of the business to establish a root cause and develop solutions that will support the sales teams.

The successful candidate will drive improvements in the planning process while developing and implementing changes to create efficiencies to positively impact the sales teams.

This role reports directly to the Director of Joint Business Planning and will be located in the Bridgestone Tower in downtown Nashville.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of a monthly consensus based customer forecast for key distributor business partners that could require travel for in person meetings. Actively participate in end-to-end customer collaboration meetings providing analysis and recommendations to support the forecast.

    Identify critical data sources and collaborate with cross-functional teams within the organization to integrate into the Integrated Business Planning (IBP) process. Manage communication and forecast for new, discontinued, and seasonal products. Co-pilot with demand planning to reconcile variances to the statistical forecast.

    Investigate root causes of forecast error and develop preventive/corrective actions. Help improve the toolset, process, and culture around forecasting and lead change throughout the organization. Track and report on service metrics that are mutually beneficial for Bridgestone and the Customer Forecast Accuracy (SFA), Bias, Order Fill, & Inventory.

    Build a library of event based analysis evaluating the impact of promotions on sales performance and category trends. Continuous process improvement creating efficiencies for Bridgestone and its partners. Ad-hoc analysis and reporting as needed to support the business strategy and sales teams.

    Travel to the annual Bridgestone sales planning conference.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree in business, statistics, or related field. 3-5 years of related work experience. Ability to manage complex data, infer trends, and spot patterns.

    Knowledge of relevant analytical tools and techniques. Proficient in EXCEL and a power user with Pivot Table functionality. Strong storytelling capabilities in conjunction with proficiency in PowerPoint.

    Ability to ensure accuracy of data and version control with forecast updates. Understanding market, customer and end consumer trends. Well-developed communication skills and comfort around senior leaders.

    Ability to work with remote teams effectively. Excellent project and time-management skills. Ability to structure and work on exploratory problems Demonstrated expertise in translating data and analysis into relevant implications Analytical reasoning skills along with strong story-telling abilities.Preferred:

    Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau. Knowledge of advanced analytics via Alteryx or a similar software. Understand forecasting concepts, models, and statistical techniques.
