general purpose of the position: lead cashier is responsible to support sales transactions by providing excellent customer experience. maintain cash register operations (pos) and adhere to all company policies/ procedures and loss prevention standards.
essential duties and responsibilities:
provide exceptional customer service when processing or facilitating internal and external transactions.
ensure all credit cards, checks and travelers checks balance.
ensure change box has appropriate funding at all times.
daily communication with the supervisor and/or operations manager to discuss issues relating to needs of opening and closing discrepancy.
ensure recap of daily activities is effectively communicated to management
demonstrate full awareness of operational and security procedures
support sales associates on the selling floor and assist with markdowns when necessary
assist in training and developing cashier team
in partnership with management team where necessary, cashiers are responsible for processing:
o cash sales
o issue/ redemption of merchandise credits and gift cards
o post void transactions
o promotional discounts (in partnership with management)
o opening and closing procedures
o physical count of cash drawer
follow drawer count procedures; and ensure all cash drawers are accounted for in safe and are prepared for the following morning.

demonstrate awareness of operational and security procedures.
available to work store schedule, as needed, including evenings and weekends
standing for extended periods of time
able to type on pos system
bend / stoop
able to safely lift boxes up to 40 pounds
skills and abilities required:
a minimum of 1 year of retail experience
must possess superb interpersonal skills in order to effectively communicate with management and employees in the store
luxury experience preferred
knowledge of pos system and basic computer skills
proactive ability to multi-task and prioritize
must be results driven and flexible to change
works well in a team environment
high school/ college degree preferred
