The Senior Business Analyst will support the rapid growth of the Owned Brands initiative by developing business metrics, mining data to uncover consumer and market insights and business opportunity, and partnering with internal stakeholders to drive profitable growth. The ideal candidate will be highly analytical with proven experience delivering results.

Specific responsibilities include identifying the necessary metrics and creating reports to increase understanding of the business, keen understanding of market trends and forces, and proactively identifying pain points or opportunities through systemic measurement. The Senior Business Analyst will be detail oriented, and possess expertise in both qualitative and quantitative analysis with a passion for delivering actionable insights to key stakeholders. The right candidate will blend advanced reporting with strong critical thinking and project management skills.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Conduct business analysis to identify and respond to category, customer, retail, shopper and competitive industry trends, monitor and report on them on an ongoing basis, and provide recommendations to achieve business objectives

  • Leverage sales & customer data, post promotional analysis, market & consumer insights, and industry best practices to develop actionable business strategies, programs and tactics to drive topline and profit growth for Owned Brands

  • Lead analysis to understand promotional efficiency & impact to inform strategy and best ROI on budgeted spend

  • Support the development and presentation of long-term pricing architecture strategies to maximize revenue and profitable share growth across Owned Brand's product portfolio and retail channel base

  • Collect and analyze market trends, relative channel pricing trends, competitive prices, commodity costs, retailer margin structures, and promotional tactics to optimize pricing & product positioning

  • Design and build best-in-class performance analytics & reporting capabilities for the Owned Brands division

  • Understand / track marketing spend at a detailed level to inform Marketing and Finance teams of its ROI, performance. and trends

  • Support and challenge the financials & market assumptions for new product discovery, new process development and go-to-market strategy

  • Work in unison with finance and supply chain regarding planning process (budgets & forecasts), including model creation, modification, updating, and analysis

  • Partner with Category Managers & Business Intelligence to ensure a coordinated approach and understanding of customer buying trends per brand, category, and product

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Bachelor's Degree Required - MBA preferred

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in data analysis, or equivalent experience such as consulting, business strategy, finance, or operations (preferably in CPG)

  • Prior experience solving complex quantitative business performance challenges

  • Advanced analytical capability

  • Strong working knowledge of syndicated data (e.g., IRI, Nielsen, SPINS)

  • Advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills and proficiency with data visualization tools (i.e. Tableau)

  • Proven oral and written communication, collaboration, and influencing skills

  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and assignments

  • Expert-level Excel skills especially with pivot tables, conditional formulas, complex formulas, financial reporting, formatting, charting, and some macros.

  • Experience with pulling data from various databases, particularly using SQL.

  • Extensive experience with data visualization with tools such as Tableau.

  • Extensive experience with web analytics tools such as Google Analytics

Job Summary: The Senior Business Intelligence Analyst is responsible for providing the data mining, analysis, and reporting necessary for intelligent decision making in the company. They will demonstrate knowledge of business intelligence concepts, practices, and procedures, and will complete daily tasks following department quality and process standards while relying on experience and the input of senior leaders to plan and accomplish team goals.
