KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelors Degree in legal, finance, business administration or related field and/or equivalent professional experience, including experience with legal or law firm preferred.
Seven or more years in a banking environment
Level of understanding third party risk management and Enterprise wide relationships.
Basic understanding of change management, process management, and risk management
Knowledge of contract development, strong project management and/or change management skills and superior customer service focus.
Exceptional negotiations skills and the ability to maintain strong internal and external relationships at all levels of the organization.
Works well independently and under pressure
Strong attention to detail in work output
Excellent communication skills in both verbal and in written form and the ability to effectively communicate and summarize to all levels (including Senior Executive) within the organization
Strong problem solving and analytical skills
PURPOSE OF POSITION
This position is responsible for managing first line of defense vendor activities for BBVANY. Central to its purpose is making sure that third party risk across the enterprise is appropriately identified, assessed, understood, documented and incorporated into management routines as appropriate. Assists Third Party Risk Management programs compliance with regulatory requirements, including SR 13-19 and OCC 2013-29.
This position will manage the implementation of the programs and policies and supporting the ongoing compliance with the requirements of regulatory guidance, internal policies and procedures.
Ensure third party relationships are managed per BBVA US Third Party Risk policy and procedures which includes:
Maintaining third party inventory and contract listing
Ensuring third party relationships are documented and tracked
Ensuring vendor relationship reviews are conducted and compliant with policy and regulations
Maintain and coordinate the third party review schedule and timeline.
Manage first line of defense responsibilities for the BBVANY third party relationship portfolio
Identify and carry out expense and cost control measures as related to third party engagements
Support third party strategy setting through identifying cost savings opportunities and new product opportunity or product consolidation
Assist Line of Business or Service Requestor in Third Party on-boarding process including:
Purchase request origination
Vendor registration and approval process
Service Risk Assessment
Documentation compilation & submission SOW, MNDA, MS
Coordination of procurement process contract negotiations, budget, historical spend
Due diligence compilation & submission InfoSec, Compliance, BCP documents (as needed)
Approval coordination & ACC Terms set up
Conduct and lead on-going monitoring of third party engagements:
Coordination of monitoring meetings based on tier risk rating
Facilitation of meetings when escalation of issues are requested
Strengthen partnerships with business units across the organizations to provide consultation while ensuring key business partners understand the strategic and tactical direction for third party transformation efforts.
Coordinate closeout activities of third party terminations & natural expirations from notification of terminations, coordination for movement from one vendor to another, or bringing services in-house
Respond to regulatory and audit requests
Lead projects to enhance the BBVANY third party risk management, process improvement and change management initiatives.
