What you'll do:

DUTIES: Perform computational, statistical, econometric analyses.

Document the rationale and supporting evidence for the assumptions in the form of whitepapers and model documentation. Thoroughly test the model parameters and identify model limitations. Analyze test results to demonstrate the adequacy of modeling setup/choices.

Document the model limitations and, on an on-going basis, test the models to ensure the model limitations do not adversely impact model accuracy. Conduct time-series analysis and perform back-testing using statistics to measure forecast errors. Analyze macroeconomic and financial time series in support of on-going research and model development.

Utilize project management and communication skills to ensure project deliverables are understood and achievable. Generate new ideas and modeling techniques to improve the existing modeling methodologies.

What you have:

Requirements:
Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Finance, Economics, Financial Engineering, Mathematical Finance, Applied and Computational Mathematics, or a related field and 1 year of experience in job offered, econometrics, quantitative research, or a related field. Experience may be gained after, prior to, or concurrently with the attainment of master's degree.

Experience and/or education must include:
1.Building statistical/econometric models from scratch;
2.Writing codes to assist in the performance of computational, statistical, and econometric analyses, such as Python and SAS;
3.Relational databases;
4.R, C#, C++, SQL, LaTex; and
5.CCAR and/or DFAST

Through application of the Bank's Risk Framework and the continuous identification and assessment of risk, Santander seeks to ensure that all of our businesses operate inside of clearly established limits, are able to proactively quantify exposures, and take corrective action when required. As a member of the Risk Management division, you'll be part of a diverse team of talented professionals who interact with senior risk team personnel, business managers and other Bank disciplines in order to understand business operations and dynamics, and analyze, monitor, and manage related risks. The Commercial Bank's Risk Management Testing function is owned and managed by the first line of defense (1st LOD). The Testing team provides an independent assurance on the risk and control environment towards meeting applicable laws, regulations, and guidelines for Commercial Banking. The goal of the Testing team is to support compliance with regulations and requirements including the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX), facilitate the assessment of the control suite effectiveness in the Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) process and inform managers on the adequacy or effectiveness of their control environment. Duties & Responsibilities: * Execute the control assessment phase of Commercial Banking's Operational and Compliance RCSA annual plans. The results provide critical information for management to understand the control environment of their business and meet requirements for the assessment, mitigation and reporting of risks and internal controls for the Bank. * Review various business processes and assess the adequacy of control designed to mitigate the risk identified * Draft and execute test procedures to assess operating effectiveness of controls for in scope RCSA processes. * Obtain, examine and analyze records from various systems, reports, operating practices, and documentation for compliance with bank policies, regulatory compliance and adherence to appropriate procedures. * As part of controls testing, analyze for process deficiencies within the end to end loan and product life cycle. * Summarize results for each Business Unit and Commercial Banking. Present results to line or business manager, first and second line risk management and executive management. * Support risk managers to identify, develop and document findings and corrective action plans, for noted trends or deficiencies * Partner with risk managers to enhance or implement controls to address deficiencies * Develop proficiency in the Bank's in-house Governance, Risk & Control management system * Execute testing to comply with SOX, Bank mandated policies and Internal Audit recommendations. * Travel, as required, to perform risk and controls review of all applicable lines of business and offices * Participate in special projects as directed by the risk manager or Head of Quality Control.
