We are looking for a Senior Revenue Accountant with Big 4 public accounting and industry experience to be a key member in a dynamic, fast-paced and high growth organization. This is a hands-on role within the revenue accounting and order to cash functions.

Our ideal candidate will be a CPA and have experience in revenue/order to cash for high transaction volume companies. This person should also possess strong communication skills and is expected to work cross-functionally within the organization.

A successful candidate must have the ability to operate effectively in a rapidly scaling, dynamic environment. We're looking for an individual who thoroughly enjoys challenges and getting into details.

This role will report directly to the Director, Revenue Operations and Accounting.


  • Prepare and insure monthly revenue reporting including preparing revenue related reconciliations and reporting schedules in a timely manner

  • Perform other revenue related month-end close activities including recording journal entries for revenue, contra revenue, revenue reserves and sales tax accruals

  • Reconcile revenue/order to cash related balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis

  • Adjust revenue/cost as appropriate for accurate reporting. Ability to prepare commentary on results

  • Analyze and interpret revenue at month-end; quarter-end and year-end to verify accuracy with US GAAP / forecast and budget

  • Support audit process including preparing working papers, schedules and addressing inquiries

  • Assist to define and implement revenue recognition and SoX regulatory needs process and systems as appropriate

  • Assist with the transactional level reconciliation between The RealReal's internal bookings database and our 3rd party credit card processors (this includes optimizing processes)

  • Tackle challenging ad-hoc projects


  • CPA or equivalent

  • Bachelor's degree, with a focus in Finance or Accounting

  • 2-5 years of relevant experience with Big 4 background (1-2 years of industry experience a plus!)

  • Working knowledge of US revenue GAAP

  • Experience navigating large data sets

  • Strong organizational skills

  • NetSuite experience strongly preferred

  • Proven success in fast-paced, rapidly-changing environments

  • Experience in e-Commerce a plus

Specifically, the Sr. Revenue Accountant will be responsible for the accounting for all direct-to-consumer (e-commerce) revenue. About the Role Williams-Sonoma, Inc. is looking for an ideal candidate to fill our Sr. Revenue Accountant position based out of our headquarters in San Francisco, California. The ideal candidate is someone who is both detail oriented but who can also see the big picture and work with our supply chain and brand finance teams on operational changes impacting our revenue streams. Responsibilities will include reviewing and reconciling system generated transactions, preparing journal entries related to revenue generation, helping prepare the monthly revenue forecast and annual budgets for various revenue accounts, assisting with revenue related disclosures within our SEC filings and liaising with our business partners in the supply chain and brand finance organizations. In addition, this role will be participating in, and eventually becoming the point person for, decisions related to system changes that impact our e-commerce revenue processes.
