The Institutional and Wholesale segment within FIS offers mission-critical software and IT services for the buy side, capital markets, and global trading institutions. FIS empowers financial institutions and corporations to stay ahead in a fast-moving marketplace. These solutions automate the detailed processes associated with financial services, from trading, portfolio management and investment accounting to retail transactions and corporate treasury management.
What you will be doing
The Senior Revenue Accountant reports to the Revenue Manager and is a broadly-based role responsible for the day to day revenue accounting functions including the month end close process and account reconciliation activities, as well as assisting with various weekly, monthly, and quarterly financial reporting to senior management.
Review new contracts and determine appropriate revenue recognition treatment. Ensure that the conclusion is appropriately documented and obtain sign- off by manager/Controller prior to recognizing revenue.
Prepare a monthly P&L trend/fluctuation analysis and provide variance explanations to guarantee accuracy and consistency in monthly financial statements.
Ensure that contracts are properly set up in the system contract admin/billing team. Obtain all new project set ups and sign off that the set-up was appropriate.
Ensure financial statement integrity with accurate preparation and execution of journal entries, accruals, reclassification, and adjustments. This includes submitting fully supported entries with support that can hold up with internal and external review.
Complete timely preparation of revenue-related balance sheet account reconciliations (Unbilled and Billed A/R, Deferred Revenue). Draw connections between the revenue-related balance sheet accounts, their impact on the P&L, and identify possible revenue recognition opportunities.
Responsible for adhering to all internal controls and policies as set forth by Group Controller or Corporate Accounting. Includes maintaining evidence of the timely control performance for audit and SOX purposes.

What you bring
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, Accounting preferred.
3-5 years of experience
Experience working in accounting, preferably in the Fin-tech industry
Proven track record of meeting financial deadlines with complete accuracy
Strong sense of accountability and ownership, proactive problem-solving skills and work under time constrains
Highly organized, motivated and detail oriented
Team player with a positive attitude
Independent and flexible problem solver with ability to positively cope with change
Advanced Excel, ability to utilize and learn accounting software packages; knowledge of Oracle
