American Midstream Partners, LP is a growth-oriented limited partnership formed to provide critical midstream infrastructure that links producers of natural gas, crude oil, NGLs, condensate and specialty chemicals to end-use markets. American Midstream's assets are strategically located in some of the most prolific onshore and offshore basins in the Permian, Eagle Ford, East Texas, Bakken and Gulf Coast. American Midstream owns or has an ownership interest in approximately 4,000 miles of interstate and intrastate pipelines, as well as ownership in gas processing plants, fractionation facilities, an offshore semisubmersible floating production system with nameplate processing capacity of 100 MBbl/d of crude oil and 240 MMcf/d of natural gas; and terminal sites with approximately 6.7 MMBbls of storage capacity.

Objective

This position is responsible for all gross margin accounting functions pertaining to assigned assets. Asset compositions are associated with the midstream oil and gas business and may include gathering, processing and transporting of natural gas, natural gas liquids, condensate and crude oil.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the gross margin accounting and reporting associated with assigned assets including booking of journal entries and preparing variance analysis for internal reporting and for external audits

  • Ability to reconcile and understand pipeline statements, imbalances, revenue and cost of sales in a midstream environment and the associated contracts and revenue recognition

  • Complete monthly, quarterly and annual journal entries as required

  • Monthly invoicing of customers on assigned assets

  • Assist with preparation of FERC Form 2 and Form 3 selected gas pages along with EIA Form 176 & 857

  • Work closely with Commercial, Measurement, Contracts, AP, Financial Reporting and various other teams to complete monthly and Quarterly Gross Margin Variance analysis.

  • Complete Account Reconciliations on a monthly basis

  • Work with Internal and External audit, by providing data, and ensuring the correct understanding of our business

  • Ensure all applicable internal controls/SOX guidelines are followed and documented appropriately

  • omplete special projects as requested

  • Other duties as assigned

  • The conditions the worker will be subject to in this position include:

  • None. The worker is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions (such as in typical office or administrative work.)

  • Approximately 10% of anticipated travel.

Education and Qualifications

  • Minimum of Bachelor's Degree in Accounting; Masters of Accountancy or MBA preferred

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred

  • Minimum six or more years related business experience; Midstream experience preferred

  • Advanced knowledge of federal and state financial regulations, and understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) required

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; Advanced Excel and PowerPoint experience required; Great Plains and Microsoft Dynamics experience preferred

  • Must be flexible to work overtime during peak periods as needed

  • Ability to work well in teams as well as independently to produce quality materials within tight timeframes with advanced analytical skills

  • Excellent professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills required

  • Ability to prioritize assignments, deal with interruptions, and meet deadlines in a fast paced and growth-oriented environment
